Self-care is not selfish. You must fill your own cup before you can pour into others.
One young person living with us asked if he could redesign his room into a cool place for him to chill out. Working with our amazing Estates team, they created this fantastic feature wall, fitted new furniture and changed colour scheme to what he wanted.
We love it when our young people want to personalise their bedrooms. It's a statement that they are happy and settled and it's why we do what we do.

Here's a photo of how they are looking now! Adding a burst of color to the garden as we transition into late summer.
Today we unite in raising awareness of su***de on World Su***de Prevention Day. Let's banish the stigma of talking about su***de and mental ill health and remind people that they are not alone and it is okay to speak openly.
Having a conversation about su***de can be difficult, but it could save a life. Samaritan's have produced a one pager called 'Finding a way to say it'. https://buff.ly/4dZKPQC

One of our young people had her nails done for a very special occasion... Her Sister's baby shower party - hence the baby blue and pink colour!
Don't they look wonderful.
Last week we hosted our annual Summer Lunch at Huntstile Organic Farm.
The weather was perfect for sitting outside and taking in the stunning Somerset views. It was lovely to see members of our team all together, with some of our young people.
The afternoon featured Hawaiian skirts, hoola hoops and an 'Appreciation Station' of sweets.
Lunch was freshly baked pizzas, homemade garlic bread and salads were served for lunch, followed by homemade brownies and icecream. It really was delicious.
After lunch, a friendly game of cricket and rounders motivated everyone to participate in taking part or showing their support with enthusiastic cheers.
September is a month of fresh starts and new beginnings, a time to set and pursue fresh goals.
Let's make it a month to remember!
Our home in Somerset has recently enhanced a wall in the garden with a specially commissioned mural. I am confident that this beautifully painted feature will bring about a smile each time it is admired.

During this summer, several of our young people have set objectives and put plans in place in pursuit of their overarching goal of independence.
These aspirations include staying overnight in an AirBnB, visiting the beach, a theme park, and embarking on independent travel for outdoor adventures.
Every one of these endeavors has been carefully organised, and we take immense pride in witnessing our young people relish these experiences and create lasting memories.
Happy International Cat Day to all the cat lovers out there!
Whether they are lounging in the sun, chasing after a toy, or curling up in our laps for a nap, cats have a way of bringing a sense of peace and comfort into our lives. They are not just pets; they are family members who deserve to be recognized and celebrated on this special day.
So let's take a moment to appreciate the purrs, the headbutts, and the gentle meows that make our days brighter and our hearts fuller.
