✈️ Two of our young 2nd XI players Nelson Taylor and Alex Fish are heading to Kenya to represent Kenya Kongonis Cricket Club for the next three weeks.

During this time Nelson will also be trialling for the Kenyan U19’s.

The 2nd XI are back in action tonight in the Intermediate KO Cup as they look to avenge their defeat in the league against .

18:00 start at North Newton Cricket Club with a place in the next round at stake.

Yesterday’s Taunton School player of the match in the 1st XIs convincing win over Minehead CC was Henry Weatherill with his second senior 5 wicket haul.

Joint Taunton School player of the match for the twos was Jasper Culverhouse with 53* and Nelson Taylor with 37 & 2-44.

QF cup action at Gipsy Lane tonight, if you can get down and support the boys then that would be great.

Liam Redrup also passed 50 1st XI league appearances.

RESULTS:

1st XI lost by 84 runs to Bridgwater 2s
2nd XI lost by 112 runs to Huntspill & District 1s
3rd XI won by 102 runs vs Ilton 2s

A tough weekend for Taunton CC, with the 1st and 2nd XI falling to losses against the respective opposition, however the 3rd XI picked up their first win of the season over Ilton CC.

Despite just winning 1/3, it was a great weekend for some of our juniors, Harvey C picking up POM for the 2s, stabilising a 2nd XI collapse, with a well worked 29 (54). Jasper C also picking up 4-38 to become the leading wicket taker at the club so far this season.

In the 3s 102 run victory it was POM for junior Austin W 57 (47) which included 7 fours and 3 sixes, taking a youthful 3s side to 273AO.

Some of our more senior players having good performances as well, Paul Braithwaite on debut for the 1st team picking up 3-43 from his 10. Jamie Jewell picking up 4-35 for the 2s and Mak Garole 56 (88) opening up for the 3s & Ian Culverhouse 2-30 for the 3rd XI, stopping Ilton’s reply get underway.

This evening our 2nd XI donned our new coloured kit sponsored by and ConnectPlus in their Baker Cup tie with 👊🏼

TCC running out comfortable winners scoring a mighty 201-4 … James H 76, Nelson T 47

Shaftesbury then fell 25 runs short with James H taking 4 for 🏏
