This facility is provided by Thurloxton Parish Council for villagers and visitors to enjoy. When British Telecom decided that this phone box was no longer viable, they gave the Parish Council the opportunity to purchase it! After a substantial debate it was agreed that it would be purchased for the vast sum of £1.00. This way our traditional local landmark, is preserved and we can give it a useful

Book Exchange Autumn tidy up.
Old books removed and donated to charity shop ☑️
Over 150 freshly donated books stacked on shelves ☑️
Lots of great children's books on bottom shelf ☑️
Cobwebs removed and Snails evicted☑️
Old Mouse house removed and entrance blocked☑️
Floor swept☑️
Go and enjoy villagers!

Thurloxton Book Exchange has had a tidy up and there are 120 fresh books in it ready to enjoy.
Remember of you take a book you must leave a book.
Donations welcome in the blue bag on the floor.
The old books will be donated to Dr Barnardo's in Norton Fitzwarren.

A lovely email today from the Barnardo's shop where I donate all the old books from the book exchange.

What a beautiful day to sort the book exchange out! 170 books all tidied up and all the new additions have been added to the shelves.
Remember if you take a book please leave a book that you think someone else will enjoy.
The old books will be gifted to Barnardo's at Norton Fitzwarren.

The book exchange has been tidied up and every book in there has been changed. There are some great childrens books in there as well!
I delivered 2 massive sacks of the old books to the charity Dr Barnardo's who were extremely grateful for them and will sell them in their Norton Fitzwarren shop to raise money for their fantastic charity.

This way our traditional local landmark, is preserved and we can give it a useful second life.
Thurloxton book exchange is just that, take a book you fancy reading and leave one that you think someone else might enjoy.
There is no charge for using this facility, all we ask is, that you leave at least one book when taking another. Donations of books are welcome, just add them to the shelves.
Books are removed after 2 months and donated to Sue Ryder Care to sell. So far this has raised over £1000!
