🎓 Today is results day, as millions of students around the world receive their end-of-secondary school exam results, and celebrate their achievements at GCSE, VTQ and IGCSE.
This cohort – the biggest-ever assessment series for combined exams body, the JCQ, and Cambridge – was among the most disrupted by Covid-19 arrangements during their secondary school careers, making their achievements even more meaningful.

Congratulations Class of 2024: Schools share A level, Btec and Level 3 results | Ruth Holmes | Relocate magazine Over 80% of students receiving A level results this week secured their first-choice university. We share individual schools’ and students’ achievements behind the data and celebrate everyone’s achievements around the world.
🎓 Congratulations to the thousands of students across the UK and around the world who receive their A level, T level, post-16 vocational and technical (VTQ) qualifications results today. It is a day to celebrate so many students remarkable achievements.
Across England, Wales and Northern Ireland we can see first rise since 2021 saw 27.6% of all grades marked at A* or A - up from 25.3% last year. Plus data shows that a record number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds heading to university this autumn, over 80% of all students secured their first-choice university option this year.

With record entries this year, there's been an 11% increase in the number of students receiving their Cambridge IGCSE, O level, and AS and A level results worldwide. The data from Cambridge International Education showcases the enduring appeal of the British curriculum-based approach. Students from 5,261 schools in 140 countries sat a total of 1.6 million exams, marking a 9% increase from 2023.
These figures mirror the demand for quality international education and the British curriculum highlighted at IPSEF last month. Rod Smith, group managing director for international education at Cambridge, provides valuable insights into the 2024 results.

A new global study by financial wellness experts nudge shows that financial anxiety impacts young women more than their male counterparts. The research shows there is significant gender disparities when it comes to financial anxiety and financial optimism worldwide, with 50% of women across all age groups experience financial anxiety, compared to 41% of men.
The report also highlighted different approaches to financial planning across both groups. Over half (54%) of women aged 25-34 surveyed said they only have a short-term financial plan of three years or less in place. In contrast, 52% of men in the same age group have a long-term financial plan (three years or more).
