Well last night marked the end of my first season racing at PF International Kart Circuit in the Trent Valley Kart Club (TVKC) 2023 Championship π
The awards evening was a fantastic event, celebrating the best of the drivers and also the orange army and committees, those that make the racing events run safely and smoothly! π§‘
π₯ I am so proud to say that I was awarded Senior Novice Driver of the year AND i was also 4th in the championship! π₯
π A huge achievement after a huge learning curve π
π€© From the first time I stood on the embankment to watch the racing at PF International track I wanted to be out on that track; so this year has been amazing for me. Racing with the best karters, British Champions, has pushed me to learn quickly and also to accept that you don't have to be at the front of the pack to be rewarded, but you do have to turn up consistently and finish!
I have loads of people to thank for this past year, most especially my Dad, Rob Ferrol who had been by my side through all the highs and lows . He feels the elation and disappointments as much as I do. His mechanic skills have kept me racing, from building engines to kart set up, he can do it all and has done it all! My whole family have supported me, showing up and cheering me on and believing in me is a huge part of keeping me racing! Thank you π
My sponsors E J Event Medical Ltd.. They have played a huge part in keeping me racing. As everyone knows the cost of racing is huge π°and to have a company commit to supplying tyres for me throughout the year has made the difference some months between racing or not! Thank you π
Support has also come from Focus on Young People in Bassetlaw a fantastic local charity who have helped Andrew purchase much needed race items, most recently a laser alignment kit. Thank you π
Andrew_Ferrol_Racing was named as a and by Nottinghamshire County Council they have supported Andrew to do the extra races needed to be able to apply for his National Race License. I'm pleased to say that his upgraded license has arrived! Thank you π
What a year ππ₯π

As well as racing, spannering and cadets...Its been my GCSE year. I needed 5 GCSEs to get on my chosen course....and I did it! Got my results on Thursday and I all passed 9 exams ... so onto Engineering at college I go.
*Relieved that's its done.
*Relieved that the hard work has paid off.

I'm at Fulbeck Kart Club today doing some spannering π§ for Rookie Racing Training Academy π Back to trackside
When I was thinking about switching from indoor to outdoor karting, the first step was seeing if it was for me - it's a big change and commitment. So we hired a kart from these guys on one of their track days and I had my first ever outdoor kart session. I had a great day, loved every minute of it and got some great advice and a real feel for outdoor karting. Fast forward to now and I'm hooked, both racing and spannering π So if your thinking about Karting, drop them a message and get driving!
Showing our sponsors E J Event Medical Ltd. and supporters that I'm working hard on and off track πͺ to help fund my karting
A big shout out to Alex from AJS Engineering who managed to squeeze us in for a chassis repair job. After last race weekend we found a crack which needed immediate attention and was pointed in his direction.
Superb service and immense attention to detail. Well worth the long drive to Spalding. Dad even took me on a detour via RAF Conningsby to look at the Typhoons. Plenty on the ground but sadly non in the air while we were there.
Between racing and mechanics my calendar is filling up fast! π
I have Friday, Sat and Sun of Kartmasters weekend free if anyone needs Iame X30 mechanic! Drop me a message.
I am free during week too, until September, if anyone needs a mechanic.
PFI TVKC round 4 race report.
So this racing weekend was a 3 day event for us - Testing Friday, Practise and Qualifying Saturday, Race day Sunday.
Friday...we were running in our newly rebuilt engine... technical issues ensued so didnβt quite go to plan π±π Thank goodness for spare engines lol π
Saturday... practice sessions were a mixed bag but overall my times were heading in the right direction.
Sunday... Heat 1, finished where I started so no loss of place but got caught up in some commotion up front. This meant I lost places that I had gained! Sustained some kart damage too which kept us busy leading to heat 2.
Heat 2... Brilliant heat for me, a few good battles on track saw me jump several places. Sadly I got a drop down penalty which put me back to 16th.
Final... A really good race. I enjoyed being in the thick of things and also getting some good overtakes and switchbacks, a great racing experience which saw me gain 5 places. Times were slow for everyone today; cool track, strong winds and tough competition.
Over halfway through the championship and I'm very happy with my progress! This year is about gaining experience, progression, learning and enjoying my racing. Overall a great and enjoyable weekend!
Thanks as always to our sponsors & Support from and to my dad for all his hard work on the spannerβs. As for the earlier issues in Fridayβ¦. Iβm saying nothing lol ππ Thanks again to for the fantastic photos
Timed Qualifying done...managed to sneak into the 57's so happy with progress today! πππͺπβοΈ
