Aspire: Programme reset continues to underpin success at the next level | Basketball England Basketball England’s Aspire programme continues to underpin the work done across the sport’s Talent Pathway.
After a quiet summer on social media.. we are back for the 2023 / 2024 season. We are proud to be entering 3 teams in the Sheffield Basketball League starting with our 2nd & 3rd team playing this week.
For anyone new to basketball or wanting to continue drop us a message for our training times. This year we have expanded and welcomed 11 new players.
Unbelievable turnout for training last night. 22 players including 3 brand new faces. Our goal is and always has been to “grow the game” in the local area.
We have a complete range of abilities that turn up so if you are brand new and want to learn or have been playing for years and want a new friendly club to train with, drop us a message.
Unfortunately we don’t have any capacity at the minute for players under the age of 16 but message and we can give you information on local clubs that do run for juniors.

We have suspended our Thursday night training and are reverting back to Valley Leisure Centre on a Tuesday night moving forward with an additional half an hour added.

The final standings for our 2022/23 season. Thank you to all the players for their hard work & commitment this year.
Special congratulations to James Allen on winning the league MVP for Div 3
Tonight we caught up with club chairman Liam Fairest who had this to say on the season.
“Since the introduction of the new committee at the beginning of last season, the club has grown and expanded quicker than we ever thought it would. We have faced several challenges with a steep learning curve, but all have been good for the club. The number of players joining us this past year has been amazing, and commitment to each game has doubled. We're hoping that this will continue into next season so that we can introduce a third team to maximise on game time for every player. Thank you to all of our players for their efforts and commitment this year, thank you to everyone that attended our training sessions, thank you to everyone who came to support us at any of our games, and a big thank you to all of the committee and anyone else that have donated their time to further support the club and continue to make it bigger and better! The immediate future is very bright for Worksop BC, with new and exciting sponsorships already in place for the upcoming year. Let's have another great one!”
Just a reminder that tonight’s training is the start of a temporary move to the new facility.
