Tonight our cadets attended Hightown Barracks for there Pass out Parade. Congratulations to Cdts Penniall & Haskell for completing there First Class Qualification and Pre DofE!

This week our cadets have been working on how to build washing up stands out of wood as a practical exercise.

Last night we were able to Congratulate Sgt Roberts on completing his Senior Classification he had the honour of being awarded it by Sqn Leader Horabin!

Today Cdt Moss was Selected to go flying at RAF Woodvale and was able to compete her PTT training and fly in the Grob Tutor.

Tonight our cadets have been working together doing some fieldcraft exercises learning how to communicate in different atmosphere.

They have also been learning some more drill techniques! 💪

PROMOTION POST ✅

Congratulations to our Newly promoted Cpl Oldland on her promotion Last week! This is following the Corporal’s hardwork & commitment for the last 2 years.

FIELDCRAFT CAMP 2023

Last week, Cpl Roberts and Cpl Lloyd attended the No 2 Welsh Wing ATC Fieldcraft Camp held at Kinmel Park.

The camp introduced cadets to fieldcraft in the air cadets and an introduction to the L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle.

Cpl Lloyd was also one of 3 best cadets, congratulations 🥳

CADET WARRANT OFFICER APPOINTED ✅️

Congratulations to Cadet Warrant Officer Birch, who was promoted tonight by Wing Commander Kingman, OC No 2 Welsh Wing ATC.

This is the squadron's first Cadet Warrant Officer since the early 2000s.

Well done CWO!👏

FAREWELL Sgt!👋

Tonight we said goodbye to Sgt Ford as she turns 18 shortly and ends her cadet service at Chirk Air Cadets.

Sgt Ford joined the Air Cadets just before the pandemic and returned post lock down having achieved first aid qualification and becoming a radio operator.

We wish Sgt the best of luck and hope she returns to us soon!👏

To celebrate the start of Armed Forces Week our flag pole will hoist the Armed Forces Day Flag to support the men and women who currently make up our Armed Forces community; from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

This weekend, our cadets have been to RAF Benson via RAF Cosford to the National Air Cadet Muster 2023!

They took part in several activities such as getting involved in immersive technologies as well as flights in a Chinook.

856 (Chirk) Squadron will be closed on Monday 8th May 2023 following the Coronation of King Charles III. Normal duties will resume on Thursday 11th May 2023 🫡

SECTOR SPORTS 🏑

Fantastic to host 1251 Berwyn Sqn - Ruabon Air Cadets and Wrexham Air Cadets at our HQ last night for our monthly meet.

The cadets took part in Hockey lead by our own CI Birch whilst several other cadets completed their St John Ambulance Youth First Aid assessments!
