A little about Sharon: 'I love Pre-Renaissance art especially the gold embellished Icons and medieval illustrations, and work of artists such as Marc Chagall, Stanley Spencer and Gustav Klimt. I am interested in combining abstract, sometimes decorative pattern with figurative subjects inspired by myths, memories and dreams. For as long as I can remember I have always loved painting and drawing. I paint from my imagination, inspired by folk tales, poetry, and dreams. I build up layers of paint, collage, gold leaf, and text until the images, landscapes, characters and narratives have emerged.'

A little about Giuliana: 'After spending many years living in Yorkshire, I now have lots of memories from which to unleash my imagination. As time goes by my urgency to paint has become more and more pressing and I hope that can be seen in this latest series of paintings, in the spontaneous energy of the paint that I apply on the canvas with the combined use of the brush and palette knife.

I want to celebrate the beauty of the world that surround us here in Yorkshire and Tuscany in a semi-abstract way.
My love for colour combined with carefully constructed composition to hopefully achieve a pleasing balance, appreciating what we have, the landscape, nature, animals, coastline and the sea and all that beautiful inviting memories and the imagination that special gift that we have. For me the need to allow memory and imagination to interact is vital.'

A little about Lisa: Lisa's work is focussed on creating atmospheric, textured landscape & still life paintings. Inspired by her local surroundings, her art practice is always creative, imaginative, expressive and soulful - creating collections filled with character and charm.

Painting with a mixture of instinct, emotion and skill, she has a subtle understanding of colour and its deep impact on the viewers conscious and subconscious. Her exploratory use of colour, fabric, and texture travels through her work, and has become a recognisable quality to art collectors worldwide.

A little about David: David Beresford is the son of a mine worker from South Yorkshire. He attended Barnsley School of Art, Hammersmith College of Art and the Royal College of Art, School of Film and Television. He then did programme making at Yorkshire Television ending up as an independent producer director. He returned to Art work after making a series of programmes in Mexico with the poet Ian McMillan. He then returned to Mexico City with an exhibition of Paintings and Poems with Ian. This exhibition lead to David Painting full time.

David has now lived in Lower Wharfedale for twenty seven years surrounded by an amazing and ever changing landscape which has had a strong influence his work. Travel in India and Mexico along with other places has also had a profound influence.
