Absolutely thrilled to be featured in this summer's edition of RSVP Madra RSVP Magazine where I give a profile of Canine Amatsu and how it can benefit dogs. Hope you will check out the magazine and enjoy the read.

Meet the gorgeous Bruno, a senior German Shepherd who presented with hip dysplasia and arthritis in his neck and spine. I have been working on Bruno roughly every two weeks and as his sessions have progressed his pain has reduced, and his movement improved significantly. As a result of this he has grown in confidence. He will need continuous therapy, the aim of which is to keep him mobile and pain free. As Bruno continues to improve the plan is to extend the time period between treatments.

Under the current Covid-19 restrictions, those providing care for animals are considered an essential service.

On this basis and understanding, I will remain open for Canine Amatsu treatments.

In order to maintain your safety and mine during treatments I will work outdoors as much as possible, wear a mask and ask you to do likewise, and maintain social distancing.

In advance of an appointment I will send a text or email to confirm that you are attending a therapy appointment for your dog and this should suffice at any checkpoints. The travel restrictions of 5km from your home do not apply if you are travelling for animal treatments/therapy.

It is understandably a difficult and confusing time for us all. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have regarding the level 5 restrictions and how they will apply to you and your dog and I will do my best to answer them.

Above all, stay safe.

With the government moving to Level 3 restrictions countrywide from midnight tonight, we want to confirm that Canine Amatsu Therapy at Kokoro Clinic will remain open and will continue to adhere to all our safety procedures in line with HSE guidelines.

We will be living with Coronavirus for the foreseeable future, so please follow all advice on handwashing, social distancing and mask wearing. We will get through this with everybody taking personal responsibility for their own actions.

Thank you for your patience during what has been a very difficult time for everyone and I look forward to working with you and your dogs again in the very near future.

This is Guinness who has been coming to me since July 2019. Guinness is a rescue who suffered huge trauma before being adopted by Mary who has done so much to give this beautiful boy the great life that he deserves.

I have worked on Guinness to relieve many of his issues and now I am focused mainly on his tight muscles and lack of mobility. I estimate that his mobility has improved by about 65-70%, and hope that this can be improved further in the months ahead.

Meet Monty – my first canine client! Monty was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and elbow arthritis last year and six months later ruptured his cruciate ligament. He has undergone extensive Amatsu rehabilitation with me and is recovering extremely well. His walk has improved immensely, and his veterinary team have been able to reduce his pain and anti-inflammatory medications considerably. If he can remain accident free I would hope that he will be medication free within the next few weeks.

He will require ongoing therapy to maintain his progress and to continue rebuilding his muscle strength.

Canine Amastu Physical Therapy works on your dogs soft tissue such as ligaments, muscles and tendons and areas including the spine, joints and bones.

Common conditions that benefit from Canine Amatsu Physical Therapy may include :

* Arthritis and degenerative joint diesase.
* Soft tissue injuries to ligaments, muscles and tendons.
* Elbow and hip dyslasia
* Post-surgical recovery on the back, hip, knee or neck

A treatment can take up to 30 minutes and a number of sessions may be required depending on the condition being treated.

A treatment is €25 and I accept cash or card.
