We continue our regular morning walks in and around Naas.
Thanks Mary for the photos.
1st weekend outing of the year.
We mainly do morning walks around Naas, but once in a while the spirit of adventure takes us...
Wishing all our walkers and followers a very Happy and peaceful Christmas.
Thank you to all our CD members for a year full of great memories, lovely walks, chats, fun and friendship.
Happy Christmas everyone and hope you take time out in nature to breathe and rejuvenate .. enjoy and make Christmas 2023 one to remember….. with much love❤️🎄🌸🥳
🎄Annual Christmas walk in Donadea forest park. Happy Christmas all. 🎄
A good crowd out for our morning walk this morning. Maybe it was the promise of a birthday breakfast that entice them all (Photos (C) of Sean).
Small group for one of our occasional weekend walks. A hike around Djouce woods. Thanks for the photos Sean
Back to our regular early morning Mon, Wed, Fri walks around Naas.
We braved the weekend wet weather for a energetic walk 🚶♂️🚶 from Avon Rí to Russborough along the Blessington lakeshore
Another successful excursion to a neighbouring county. The rain held off for a 14K walk along the river Barrow from Graiguenamanagh to St Mullins and back. Thanks to Terry and all for organising this.
While not the mainstay of the group we do make the occasional foray to neighborhooding counties of a weekend. A great time was had by all under typical mixed Irish summer weather.
Up bright and early. en masse, to enjoy the sunrise and 17 hours of daylight yesterday. The sun set at 20:56:34 (21:56:34 with Daylight Savings Time!) and the grand auld stretch last night was 4 hours, 50 mins and 51 secs. Oddly, the sunset will keep getting later for the next 5 days but the days will get shorter as the sunrise is later.
Join us for our regular morning walks, occasional evening walks and very occasional weekend walks.
Walking within the Pale. An escape to the Phoenix park.
Last night Carpe Diem members went to the top. The top of Kildare that is, Cupidstown Hill (1243ft). Led by Liam Kenny with Nick Coy we had a great evening with panoramic views.
Some local wildlife spotted on our regular morning walk.
Join us for a brisk walk around Naas in the mornings, and the occasional evening walk too 🚶🚶♂️🚶♀️
Last chance to stretch those legs before the festival. 🚶♀️🚶🚶♂️
WALKING SUNDAY TOMORROW AT PUNCHESTOWN RACECOURSE - SUNDAY 23 APRIL. 2pm to 5pm.
A fun afternoon for all the family at Punchestown Racecourse and a chance to walk the famous Racecourse before the start of the Racing Festival there on Tuesday 25 April. Everyone is welcome to walk to course and dogs are especially welcome. The Kildare & West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is delighted to be involved in this great occasion that has been going on for many years. Entertainment and food outlets will be there and the K.W.W.S.P.C.A. will have an information stall, a bucket collection, a raffle and will be giving out spot prizes to children and dogs in fancy dress, to anyone who would like to be judged as ‘looking most like their dog’ and to those rescue dogs that have a sad/happy story. These prizes have been generously provided by Irish Dog Foods. Some of the Society’s own rescue dogs will also be present on the day as well as some of its previously adopted dogs. Enjoy a great afternoon out with your family and your dogs and support the KWWSPCA at the same time. More information to come but keep the date free!
Nothing better than an early morning brisk walk to burn off the calories🚶🚶♂🚶♀. Followed by a birthday bash to put them all on again. 🎂
"Stoutly the sturdy road heneath my feet
Rings me a morning welcome. Rise, my soul,
The benediction of the sky to meet.
Sound, color, fragrance, freshness—mine whole;
Mine to receive, and haply mine to give;
A kingly day, and kingly must I live."
- A Morning Walk by Amos Russel Wells
thanks for the photos Mary
A wonderful weekend walk.
(Thanks for the photos Mary).
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter from Naas Carpe Diem Walkers 👋❤️🌸🐣
A good reason to get out for a walk now that Spring is in the air.
Walking more can boost fitness and mental health, says PHA Two-thirds of adults are obese or overweight in Northern Ireland, as well as one in four children.
Out for our morning jaunt. ☘️Happy St. Patrick's day all.☘️
Up and out bright and early as usual, for one of the last snow days of the year. Well worth struggling out from under the duvet.
Some members of our Naas Carpe Diem Walkers celebrating International Womens Day in the beautiful Donadea Forest Park.
A perfect day for a walk!. Many thanks to Teach Tearmainn for organising.
What better way to start the day then with a brisk walk in the early morning light followed by coffee and cakes to replenish the lost calories.
With spring well and truly in the air we are back with an active calendar of regular early morning walks; monthly hikes into the nearby hills; and, as the days get longer, evening local walks, with maybe a local history talk or two thrown in for good measure.
Wishing you all a very very Happy Christmas and peace health and happiness for the New Year. We look forward to connecting with you here and hopefully in person in 2023! ❤️
What a ball was had by all at the annual Carpe Diem Christmas party!
🥳🎊🎶💃❤️

Our Story
Morning walking group meeting in front of Our Lady’s and St. Davids church, Sallins Road along Naas canal, the lakes, looping back to our starting point. We meet 7.30am Mon-Wed -Fri. The walk is easy, open to all and takes approx 60mins. We also organise weekend walks. #fun#walking#talking
