What is til?

Til, also known as sesame, is a flowering plant in the genus Sesamum. Its scientific name is Sesamum indicum. It is grown for its edible seeds, which grow in pods, and it has spread to many tropical places around the world.


Nutritional value of til:

Most of the time, bakeries use til or sesame oil. Sesame seeds are a good source of protein, vitamin B1, fibre, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, calcium, manganese, copper, and zinc.


Ways to use til in our diet:

One of the main things in hummus is tahini, which is made by grinding roasted til or sesame seeds and vegetable oil into a thin paste. Tahini can also be used to make a light salad dressing.
You can also roast til, crush them, and then sprinkle them on salads. This will be more interesting and tasty than a regular salad.
