Walking can offer numerous health benefits to people of all ages and fitness levels. It may also help prevent certain diseases and even prolong your life.

Walking is free to do and easy to fit into your daily routine. All you need to start walking is a sturdy pair of walking shoes.

Also besides yoga, walking is the one drug that all of us can add to our lifestyles. Whether you are in your 30s, 40s, 50s, or even 80s, you can do it. You may not be able to deadlift, bench-press or do CrossFit, but you can walk and do yoga.

Traveling far away to visit relatives for the holidays?

Or simply heading for a vacation with your loved one to a beautiful place?

The holidays are a busy time for many people, but that doesn’t mean your healthy eating regimen has to suffer.

To help you with that here are some tips which will help you maintain your health during your travel-

1. If you skip breakfast try to be on intermittent fast.
You opt for only 1 or 2 items at the max- avoid tasting everything.

2. For mid meals- stick to eating a fruit or handful of nuts.
Buttermilk/ Coconut water - as per availability- avoid fresh juices.

3. Wrap up dinner as early as possible

4. Start and end your day with hot water.
Include concoctions of Saunf/ Ajwain/ Dhania to prevent gas & bloating.

5. Swap rich food with filling food
Avoid Pasta, rich Indian gravies that contains hidden calories

Instead have rice based meals, tofu, paneer, grilled Non- veg, South Indian, etc.

7. Stay away from sugar and desserts completely.

8. Avoid unnecessary snacking on chips/ biscuits/ sodas etc.

9. Keep some snacks handy- roasted makhana, Chana, Sattu , Nuts & Seeds.

10. Please carry a water bottle and stay hydrated.
