The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Fire Safety & Technology, VU conducted a comprehensive Fire Safety Awareness Campaign at Inox DB mall, located in the heart of Gwalior.

Under the guidance of dedicated faculty members of VU, the enthusiastic students from the Fire Technology branch diligently spread awareness and conducted live demonstrations on Fire Risk Assessment, Rescue Techniques, Basic First Aid Training, CPR, and the application of the 5S methodology in fire prevention.

The initiative extended beyond the student body, as the team also provided hands-on training sessions to the staff members of Inox, empowering them to effectively handle critical situations with confidence and competence.

Mr. Arun Kushwah, the esteemed General Manager of Inox also joined the campaign and lauded the exemplary efforts of the students, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the welfare of society and the promotion of fire safety practices.

The Students of the Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering Batch (2020-2024) have demonstrated their Major Project—a quadcopter on 8th June 2024. The demonstration included the brief explanation about the specification of Drone, which was followed by the practical flying.

The quadcopter is built with a flight controller, 4 BLDC motors, 4 ESCs, 4 propellers, a battery, and a mounting frame, weighing around 1500 grams. It can carry up to 2 kg, has a range of 600 meters, and can fly up to 500 meters high. It can be programmed to auto-start, set a destination, and return on pre-determined paths. The GPS ensures precise location tracking, and the drone complies with government flying norms and standards.

We wish all the students continued success in their future endeavors and hope this project serves as a strong foundation for their professional growth and contributions to the field of engineering.

With the vision of cultivating environmental awareness and nurturing a culture of communal duty, Vikrant University proudly celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2024, aimed at elevating Gwalior as a beacon of greenery.

The celebration commenced with a tree plantation drive, symbolizing a commitment to sustainable practices and the preservation of nature's beauty. The Enthusiastic Vikrant community participated in the celebration and planted trees & spread the vital message of greenery and environmental stewardship. Their actions not only added greenery to the landscape but also fostered a sense of responsibility towards our planet among the community.

The Department of Computer Science and InformationTechnology has organized its annual student farewell, "Aarambh," with utmost enthusiasm and zeal on June 4, 2024. The event marked a significant moment as final-year students bid adieu to their college.

The farewell featured a variety of activities and performances by students, including engaging fun games that added to the festive atmosphere. Several students took the opportunity to share their college experiences and reflect on their journey, adding a personal touch to the event.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the following titles: Mr. Farewell Ayaz Usmani, Miss Farewell Saloni Ojha, Mr. Handsome Robin Singh Chahar, Miss Beautiful Himanshi Verma, Mr. Evening Amit Singh Gour, and Miss Evening Kajal Rajawat.

The School of Engineering & Technology at VU successfully organized a one-day seminar on the Importance of Programming Education.

We were honored to have Mr. Swapnil Gupta, co-founder of CodeFobe in Bangalore as an expert speaker. During the seminar, engineering students gained valuable insights into the practical, functional, and applicable uses of coding. This session not only enhanced their understanding of programming but also instilled a sense of confidence and security regarding their future prospects in the field.

We hope this session has inspired our students and provided them with the knowledge and motivation to pursue excellence in their programming endeavors.

With the aim of raising awareness about fire safety, the faculty and students of BTech-Fire Technology & Safety Engineering organized a one-day training session on the "Fire Hydrant System" at the Head Office of Vikrant University.

The training covered:
✔ How to Use Fire Protection Systems: Practical demonstrations on operating various fire protection systems during a fire incident.
✔ Emergency Evacuation and Response: Guidelines on how to evacuate safely during emergencies and the appropriate actions to take.
✔ Emergency Signals: Detailed instructions on different types of emergency signals and their uses.
✔ Fire Extinguishing Techniques: Methods to extinguish or control fires using nearby materials and equipment.
✔ Fire Pump Systems: Comprehensive information about fire pump systems and their operational mechanisms.

Students of B.Tech-Fire Technology and Safety Engineering (2020-2024 batch) have successfully installed an automatic CO2 fire suppression system on the campus of Vikrant University.

This CO2 fire suppression system works by releasing carbon dioxide (CO2) into an enclosed space when a fire is detected. The CO2 displaces oxygen, effectively suffocating the fire by removing its oxygen source. This system is particularly effective for suppressing fires in areas where water or other extinguishing agents may cause damage, such as data centers, electrical rooms, and document storage facilities.

The Department of Civil Engineering, VU has organized an educational visit to the Smart City Command and Control Centre in Gwalior, aimed at delving into the innovative Smart City initiatives and Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC).

A group of 41 students from Civil and Electrical Engineering backgrounds participated in this enlightening journey to the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC). Mr. Satyendra Singh, the Manager of ICCC provided an insightful overview of the operational mechanisms governing door-to-door garbage collection vehicles and the integration of smart toilets utilizing GPS technology. Through live demonstrations and informative presentations, students gained valuable insights into the utilization of advanced technology in enhancing various aspects of Gwalior city's infrastructure.

The students also had the opportunity to explore various other Smart City projects within Gwalior, immersing themselves in the city's ongoing initiatives for sustainable development. The visit was concluded with the sightseeing of the stone statues erected for the beautification of Gwalior city, appreciating the aesthetic enhancements contributing to the city's charm and identity.

Vikrant University has organized a one-day National Seminar on "Indian Knowledge Tradition: Cultivating Indianness in Educational Environments" on May 18, 2024. This initiative was in full compliance with the directives outlined by the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department and is aligned with the principles of the National Education Policy 2020.

Esteemed guests, including S. N. Singh, Director of ABVIIITM, Gwalior; Dr. Kumar Ratnam, Additional Director of the Higher Education Department, M.P.; Dr. Purindra Bhasin of Ratan Jyoti Netralaya; Prof. Sahitya Kumar Nahar, Vice Chancellor of RMT Music University, Gwalior; Prof. Indu Bora, Vice Chancellor of LNIPE University; Prof. Arvind Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Agriculture University; Prof. Avinash Tiwari, Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University; and Shri Dhirendra Singh Bhadoriya, Prant Sah-Sanyojak of Shiksha Sanskriti Uthan Nyas, New Delhi, graced the event as expert speakers. They shared their thoughts and insights on the importance of integrating Indian knowledge traditions into modern educational environments.
