Self reflection, a true life skill
We don't learn from experiences, we learn from reflecting on the experience.
Self reflection is a practice. Many of us do not want to reflect upon bad experiences, however the experience keeps playing in our head.
Self reflection is a very important component of self growth.
Reflect on the what and why of the events of the day, like.
What did you do that you were or werent proud of? Why do you feel the way the you did
What went right and what could have been done better
What could you do to do it better the next time.
Do you get stressed imagining yourself in a situation that you would not like to face? Have you ever wanted to run away from a situation.. Do you have instances which get butterflies in your tummy?..Then this is for you. All you have to do is visualize the situation that makes you uncomfortable.. Then visualize your best self handling ths situation in the best possible way.. Repeat it a few times and you see the magic happening and your brain getting trained to handle the situation better. This simple trick of visualizing your best self in your own comfort zone can do wonders and help transform you into your best self
Whats the story you tell yourselves about "you"? ?? Well, paying attention, noticing and down playing the negative stories and retelling the positive stories about ourselves and envisioning the best version of us is a definite first baby step to becoming the best "you". Your brain starts believing the story you keep telling constantly and adapts itself to behave and support you accordingly. So, Lets pause and think about the new story we would like to narrate..
Let's end the stigma! Let's be self aware. Let's show some self love. It's important to realize that depression is very common; equally important is realizing that it's common to not know that you are depressed. Be self aware and seek professional help if needed!!
