Finding inspiration along the tranquil Sabarmati River at Sabarmati Ashram, the former home of Mahatma Gandhi. A place of reflection, where the father of the nation lived his principles of peace, non-violence, and simplicity.
Meet our Role Model - Mr. Jayesh Bhai Patel from Gandhi Ashram, Ahmedabad.
โHis philosophy in life is simple - give everything to whatever comes up in the present moment. I mean, everything. No if-only, no what-ifs, no doubts. Just plain ol' compassion, every moment.โ
Day 13 - The second last day of this journey stops at Ahmedabad. The Yatris are all excited to connect with the roots of our nationโs freedom. The Gandhi Ashram offers a serene atmosphere where the Yatris can reflect on the past few days and their experience in the journey so far.
Hereโs a series from when our Yatris visited a village in Deoria to get a sense of the challenges that rural India faces and brainstorm ways to solve them by uplifting these areas through enterprise. This journey has been full of diverse places and experiences that have revealed Indiaโs true potential and our Yatris are eager to build a better place based on what they have seen!

Aravind, with its mission to โeliminate needless blindnessโ, provides large volume, high quality, and affordable care. 50% of its patients receive services either free of cost or at steeply subsidised rate, yet the organisation remains financially self-sustainable. Much importance is given to equity โ ensuring that all patients are accorded the same high quality care and service, regardless of their economic status. A critical component of Aravindโs model is the high patient volume, which brings with it the benefits of economies of scale. Aravindโs unique assembly-line approach increases productivity tenfold. Over 4.5 lakh eye surgeries or procedures are performed a year at Aravind, making it the largest eye care provider in the world. Since its inception, Aravind has handled more than 6 crore ( 65 Million) outpatient visits and performed more than 78 lakh (7.8 million) surgeries. The Aravind Eye Care System now serves as a model for India, and the rest of the world.
