As a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist, I often work with men who have undergone prostate cancer surgery. One common concern is experiencing "dry or***ms" – or***ms without ej*******on. While this can be surprising, it's important to know you're not alone and there are ways to manage and even enhance your s*xual health post-surgery.
🔬 **Recent Research Insights:**
A study published in the *Journal of Sexual Medicine* highlights that approximately 80% of men experience dry or***ms following prostatectomy. This happens because the surgery often removes parts of the prostate and seminal vesicles, leading to the absence of ej*****te during or**sm. However, the study also indicates that s*xual pleasure and or**sm intensity are often preserved or can be improved with targeted therapies.
💡 **Why This Matters:**
Understanding dry or***ms can help reduce anxiety and improve your overall s*xual well-being. Dry or***ms are a sign of successful surgery in removing cancer while preserving nerve function.
🏋️ **Our Role in Your Recovery:**
Pelvic floor physiotherapy can play a pivotal role in enhancing your s*xual health post-surgery. Techniques such as pelvic floor exercises, biofeedback, and electrostimulation have been shown to improve or**sm quality and bladder control. Engaging in these therapies can lead to significant improvements in your s*xual health and overall quality of life.
💬 **Let's Talk:**
If you or a loved one are navigating the aftermath of prostate cancer surgery, remember that support is available. Reach out to a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist to explore personalized strategies for maintaining a fulfilling s*x life.
Your health journey is unique, and embracing these changes with the right support can make all the difference. Together, we can work towards reclaiming and enhancing your s*xual health.

Erectile Dysfunction After Prostate Cancer? You're Not Alone
As a pelvic floor physiotherapist, I often see men concerned about erectile function following prostate cancer surgery. The good news is, there are options!
Here at Muscle Craft Physiotherapy, we can help with:
*Improving blood flow to the p***s
*Regaining strength in the pelvic floor muscles
*Addressing scar tissue and tightness
Remember, getting back to a healthy s*x life after prostate cancer is a journey, and a pelvic floor physiotherapist can be your guide.
Let's get you back to enjoying intimacy!
Guys, let's talk about prostate cancer. It's the most common cancer affecting men, but early detection is key!
Here's what to watch for:
Frequent urination, especially at night
Difficulty starting or stopping urination
Weak urine flow
Blood in urine or semen
Erectile dysfunction
Pain in the lower back, hips, or thighs
Don't ignore these signs! Talk to your doctor and get screened.
As a pelvic floor physiotherapist, I can help with:
Recovery after treatment: Regaining strength and function in the pelvic floor muscles can improve urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
Managing side effects: Techniques can help with pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility.
Prehabilitation: Pelvic floor exercises can improve overall pelvic health before and after treatment.
Early detection and proactive care are crucial! Share this post to raise awareness and encourage men to take charge of their health.
P.S. Feel free to DM me with any questions! Let's break the stigma and get men talking about prostate health.
✨ Urinary incontinence or as I like to call it “The Unwelcomed Wet Up” is more common than you think, affecting millions worldwide. But there’s hope! 🌟 Pelvic floor physiotherapy has proven to be an effective solution. Recent studies show that “pelvic floor muscle training can significantly reduce symptoms of urinary incontinence” (Smith et al., 2023). 🏋️♀️
Consistency is key! Daily exercises tailored by a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist can make a world of difference. Remember, “individualized therapy programs are more effective than generic routines” (Jones & Brown, 2022). 💪👩⚕️
Don’t let incontinence hold you back. Contact us today and reclaim your confidence!

It’s C-Section Awareness Month!!! Cesarean birth is the surgical delivery of a baby through a cut (incision) made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. This is usually done when a healthcare provider believes it is the safer delivery option for the baby, mother or both individuals. Though this is the primary reason, some moms opt for a c-section rather than a vahjinal delivery. Follow us for more information on C-Sections and how to manage them.

We’re finally on TikTok! Follow us to learn all about Physiotherapy especially Pelvic Floor, Lymphoedema, Aquatic and Ergonomics.
Lymphoedema is a disease that is managed rather than cured. It also causes skin changes and as such steps must be taken to protect our largest organ in the presence of Lymphoedema.
Dr Sav outlines some of those steps above. If you or anyone you know has Lymphoedema, we’re here to serve them🩷🩷🩷
Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is the process used to manage Lymphoedema. It has 4 phases:
1) Lymphatic Drainage
2) Compression Bandaging 3) Exercise
4) Maintenance: Compression Garments.
It is essential to go through these phases with your Lymphoedema Therapist in order to have the best outcomes with Lymphoedema. If you know someone who has Lymphoedema, let them know we’re here to help them!
The first Jamaica Physiotherapy Association Heath Fair, Expo and Annual Conference was held on Friday and it was amazing!!! So much content and the profession of Physiotherapy was on display in fine style! I was privileged to be a presenter on the topic of “Direct Access: Revolutionizing Access to Physiotherapy in Jamaica”. Direct Access is the ability for persons to access Physiotherapy services without having to go through a third party (ie a Medical Doctor or a Dental Practitioner).
Direct Access doesn’t mean that referrals won’t be written and accepted by Physios but it allows the patients to be more in control of their health. Studies have shown that patients experience greater satisfaction with Direct Access as well as it’s cost effective! It definitely is a long journey but it will be worth it!
Join us tomorrow for the first annual Jamaica Physiotherapy Association Expo, Health Fair & Conference🥳🥳🥳 Come out and learn about Physiotherapy and how we can increase your quality of life! Meet our partners and get your check ups done. It’s a big deal!
It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!! Did you know that Physiotherapists help in the management of our amazing Breast Cancer Warriors? Tag a Breast Cancer Warrior in the comments who may need to know more about how we can help them🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
