NTSA condemns the actions of drivers endangering school children

It is very unfortunate that despite efforts to ensure road safety, rogue PSV drivers continue to endanger the lives of school children. We have received several disturbing recordings of school children hanging dangerously on moving vehicles.

Drivers have the ultimate responsibility of protecting children entrusted to them by their parents.

As we condemn the actions of these drivers, we call upon parents to ensure their children are transported in safe and licensed vehicles. The free NTSA App should be used to verify the PSV Sacco and driver details. As a society, we must proactively take all measures to safeguard children.

We encourage the public to continue calling out drivers engaging in such reckless acts and report them for action.

We shall also take action against motor vehicle owners who fail to present rogue drivers sought by the Authority.

As a SHARED RESPONSIBILITY, we urge parents to play their part by GUIDING their children.

Some of the issues discussed included contract management, setting of minimum prices, passenger identification, driver activation and deactivation policies and taxation (Effect on Commission Earnings and Tax Burden Transfer).

2. A free online public portal is accessible through www.ntsa.go.ke to confirm if a DL and plate is ready for collection. The public can raise complaints/concerns via the same portal for quick follow up and resolution.

3. Report all cases of corruption and bribery to the EACC.

Portal Features
🟡Public access to the portal does not require registration and it is free.
🟢Use your ID number to search Uncollected Smart Driving Licences ( DL).
🟤Use the registration number of the vehicle/motorcycle to search Uncollected Reflective Number Plates.
🟣The Portal provides information on the Location/Center where the Smart DL or Number Plate should be collected from.
🟠The Portal has a platform to escalate concerns relating to Smart DL and Number Plate service applications.
⚫Feedback to clients upon resolution of complaints/concerns is sent through the email addresses provided by the client at the point of submission via the portal.
