Youth Fund County Credit Officer in charge of Bungoma County, Mr. Glenstone Mutanda and his team conducted an entrepreneurship training and awareness forum for over 200 young people in Tongaren Constituency.
The forum was facilitated by the area Member of Parliament, Hon. John Chikati aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills to pursue entrepreneurship as a viable path for job creation.
Participants were also informed about the loan products and services offered by the Youth Fund to support their business ventures.

In the company of Youth Fund CEO, Mr.Josiah Moriasi,CBS, the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Hon. Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen officiated the handing over of an asset financed HOWO tipper truck.
Geoffrey Macharia Mucheru, a youth entrepreneur from Nakuru County, received an asset finance loan of KES 4.5 million, covering 75% of the truck's value, which is priced at KES 6.945 million.
Geoffrey is engaged in the construction materials supply business.
The acquisition of this asset will see the creation of employment opportunity for a driver and a turn boy.
Asset financing is a loan product advanced to youth looking to purchase business assets. The financing covers upto 75% of the asset value.

Youth Fund CEO, Josiah Moriasi, representing the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen highlighted Kenya’s commitment to climate action at the 4th Youth Symposium on Climate Action 2024.
He said that Kenya has signed key global agreements, including the Paris Agreement that will empower youth to lead climate initiatives and build community resilience.
At COP29, Kenya will push for $1.3 trillion annually by 2030 to support agriculture and infrastructure thus creating jobs for young people.
The Kenya Creative Economy Policy 2024 will promote sustainability in creative industries, while the NYOTA Project and Kenya Youth Development Policy 2019 focus on equipping youth with skills for green jobs and climate-smart careers.
"The Youth Fund was established to help young people create their own employment through entrepreneurship. The Fund has curated a loan product to support youth take up opportunities in climate action. CEO Josiah Moriasi, representing the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is this morning presiding over the 4th Youth Symposium on Climate Action happening at Safari Park Hotel.
Themed "Empowering Youth with Jobs for Climate Resilience," the symposium aims to provide a platform for youth to engage policymakers on their roles in advancing climate action and sustainable development.
It aims to showcase innovative climate solutions, build capacity for climate initiatives and prepare youth voices for COP29.
The forum is organized by Kippra Kenya, hosted by the
Executive Director, KIPPRA Dr. Rose Ngugi and brings together over 200 youth engaged in climate action
Other guests include Hurdson Thomas, CEO, Greenspace, and H.E Danny Ray Diansyah Deputy Parmanent REP For UNEP and UN and the Economic Secretary at the State department for Economic Planning Mr. Timothy Gakuo
