The Melanie Freiha Association is a Lebanese non-profit organization which was created after a tragic ski accident that claimed the life of a person very dear to us. Initially, the Melanie Freiha Association’s work was aimed at providing safety in sports, and in particular on the ski slopes (creating a trauma center with a specialized doctor present on site, increasing the number of ambulances on the ski slopes, working on building a heliport to transport victims of accidents to hospitals, etc.)

However, after the terrible blast that severely damaged our capital Beirut, and driven by our sense of patriotism and Melanie’s love for Lebanon, the Melanie Freiha Association is eager to help the victims of this tragedy and has thus decided to expand its scope of work in this regard.

After a thorough assessment of the victims’ needs and through discussions with several other NGOs, the Melanie Freiha Association has decided to provide a maximum number of home appliances (refrigerator, oven, washing machine, etc.) to families in need. Indeed, the victims have been receiving a lot of donations in the form of food (rice, pasta, etc.) but have not been able to cook or store them properly without the required equipment. Therefore, we find it essential to provide the victims with the basic home appliances in order to benefit from these donations.

According to our studies and the prices provided by the suppliers we have contacted, the home appliances for each house will cost around USD 500-700, depending on each home’s needs.
