Question: How to forgive yourself for hurting someone?

Answer: First of all, you need to accept that you've hurt the person, don't think about it too much. We believe that everything happens for a reason. Use this mistake to help you become a better person. Also, if you can, ask the person for forgiveness. It's good to get closure. Over time, your guiltiness will fade away. Just remember that you are an amazing person and that your mistakes DON'T define you.

Question: How do I get people to notice I'm depressed? I don't want them to think I'm just some teen looking for attention.

Answer: You can talk about the situation with people you trust such as a guardian, school counsellor, or close friend. We understand that you wouldn't want them to think it's just for attention, and you deserve proper support. If you're worried about that, perhaps you could take the time to sit down with them and explain everything you've been feeling. It might help to write it down so you don't forget what to say, or you could just give it to them to read if you would prefer that. They might be surprised by the situation, so it's important to remain calm and try your best to communicate what you're feeling.

Question: I suddenly feel sad or angry for no reason and at random times. My mood shifts that fast sometimes. What is wrong with me?

Answer: Moods are our emotions. They affect us every day. Sometimes we’re sad, other times we’re happy. We might even be sad and happy in the same day. But sometimes people’s mood can get “stuck” on sad. Or the moods might change a lot or become extreme. When this happens, it affects our lives. And it might be caused by a group of mental illnesses called mood disorders.

Question: How do I feel relaxed during anxiety attack and get re-focused on work?

Answer: First go to a place were you are safe and can keep calm! Stop the attack with exercises, like breath in-out Technics. Calm completely down. When you have control feel within yourself: "Can i handle my work and get re-focused?" Then the decision is up to you. BUT remember to take care of yourself, so you don't overwork!

Question: Can ADHD go away as I age?

Answer: Sometimes. It is definitely more common with children/teens, but sometimes it continues into adulthood. However, you can definitely improve it. Work on figuring out distractions, eliminating them, figuring out what hurts your focus and getting out of those habits, and figuring out what helps you to focus.

Question: Is it normal to have sudden mood shifts of from anger, to grief to love again and many other shades of the mood, after a break up, especially after a close dependent relationship?

Answer: Absolutely! There are five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. What people often forget to mention about these stages is that you don't just do one at a time, move through them in order, and never re-experience a stage after you have already been there. With breakups or any other kind of heartbreak, advice you to cycle through, around, and in-between these stages. There is no set pattern and no set timeframe. Allow yourself to grieve, give yourself the room to mourn the loss of someone you loved, and keep being honest about your emotions. You will get to the other side of this.

Question: How can I change my thinking from being so negative about my addiction, and empower myself?

Answer: You can change your thinking by changing your perspective. Addictions are there to serve a purpose, they are meeting a need you have. When you find something else to meet that need, the addiction falls away. Your body is just trying to meet your needs, it just can't tell good from bad.

Question: Am I depressed or just sensitive?

Answer: Could be either or both, Depressed is feeling like you are in a black hole, you have negative thoughts, you feel down about life and may be able to see some good things but primarily you feel very very sad and negative towards things. You feel unable to feel happy or boost your mood. Sensitive is where you just feel emotional towards things, where you may very easily get emotional from something someone said, something you have seen. You can't really control it but you just suddenly feel emotional or feel an emotion because of something.

Question: If my partner is out of the closet and I'm not out yet, will this cause a lot of issues in our relationship?

Answer: Communication is key to relationships. Just speak to your partner about the issue (what both of you want, problems that may occur, etc) and decide how both of you are going to move forward in this. It's not a 50/50 problem since your partner's family/friends may be more understanding than your's or you may be more worried about coming out than your partner is. It will be an issue if you make it an issue though.

Question: Spying on ex's social media - since my breakup I can't stop from monitoring. Is that okay?

Answer: Ethically - sure it's okay. We wouldn't necessarily describe looking at his/her social media updates as "spying," as your ex is knowingly & willfully putting whatever you're looking at out there on the internet for everyone (including you) to see. Emotionally - maybe not, but that's up to you. Is monitoring his/her profiles taking up an excessive amount of your time that could be better spent on more productive activities? Is seeing a fun status update or photo he posts causing you to feel jealous & insecure? If you feel that doing this is negatively impacting your life & preventing you from moving on after the breakup then this behavior may be harmful for your emotional well-being. It's a difficult first step but ultimately the easiest way to resist the temptation to "spy" is to remove yourself from the situation - block or unfollow his accounts. As the old saying goes, "out of sight, out of mind."

Question: When dealing with insomnia, how do you cope with work related stress?

Answer: Dealing with insomnia is always hard, Surely everyone who's had to deal with it knows, primarily because you're exhausted the next day. Something that will helps significantly is just to change your state of mind. When you wake up in the morning, instead of thinking "Oh no, I'm going to be so tired today," tell yourself you're okay and that you got enough sleep. Changing your outlook oftentimes can also change your behavior as well. When you're tired, it's so much easier to get stressed, but just telling yourself it's okay makes a huge difference.

Question: I feel stressed out due to my job. When should I look for better employment?

Answer: It is important NOT to make an emotional decision. So We would advice you to allow your frustration to wear off. And then sit down and jot down the pros and cons of why you wanna leave your current job. and if the bad out weighs the good and nothing has helped, including HR and management ...then perhaps it is time to reconsider.

Please inbox your questions, we will always maintain your confidentiality.

Question: If my partner is out of the closet and I'm not out yet, will this cause a lot of issues in our relationship?

Question: How come doctors can give people drugs without telling them about the physical addiction until it's a problem ?

Answer: We believe in many cases the drugs provided are meant to be short term and perhaps they feel the pros out weigh the cons, if you ever feel its becoming an issue talk to the doctor to explain its too much for you to handle, as with all counsellors and doctors etc, they can only go by the information they get told and the symptoms presented, communication is key to maintaining a safe and beneficial plan of approach.

Question: What is the best way to release trauma that has built up in the body, causing tension after a traumatic experience?
