The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology - Republic of Namibia (MICT), will be hosting the Eighth Namibia National ICT summit, themed "Building Resilience to 'Adopt or Die' in the Era of Digital Transformation and Digital Intelligence (AI)".
The summit, which is the biggest event on the ICT calendar in Namibia, is set to take place from 9 to 14 September at Mercure Hotel in Windhoek.
It is set to bring industry leaders, experts, innovators, policymakers and stakeholders together, while opening networking opportunities and innovative ways to deal with challenges faced by the industry nationally as well as globally.

HEROES’ DAY - President H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba said Namibians should not forget those who ensured that we replace colonial oppression with democracy, forced labour with workers’ rights and racial hatred with reconciliation and nation-building.
He made these remarks on Monday during the 34th Heroes’ Day commemoration in Omuthiya, Oshikoto, which was attended by thousands of Namibians from all walks of life.
“Our patriotic duty as free Namibians is to remember those brave men and women who sacrificed greatly for our freedom,” said President Mbumba.
The day was commemorated under the theme “Honoring Our Martyrs (Heroes and Heroines).”

HEROES’ DAY - It’s all systems go for the 34th commemoration of Heroes’ Day at the Omuthiya Recreational Park in the Oshikoto Region as various started arriving.
The day will be observed under the theme: “Honouring Our Martyrs (Heroes and Heroines).”
HEROES’ DAY - Members of the public have started arriving in large numbers at Omuthiya for today's Heroes’ Day commemoration.
The event will feature a keynote address by His Excellency Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, President of the Republic of Namibia along with other distinguished dignitaries.
HEROES’ DAY - As we commemorate this day, let us recommit ourselves to upholding the values of justice, equality and unity that they stood for.
UNITY IN DIVERSITY - The Namibian cultural group is finalising preparations for the much-anticipated Heroes’ Day in the Oshikoto Region. The group will be showcasing various cultures through a choreographed performance.
HEROES’ DAY PREPARATIONS - Veteran musician Ras Sheehama is currently in Omuthiya ahead of his performance at the Heroes Day celebrations, which will take place tomorrow, 26 August 2024.
He urged all Namibians to come out in numbers to pay tribute to our Heroes and Heroines whose blood have watered our freedom.
HEROES’ DAY PREPARATIONS - Preparations for Heroes’ Day are at an advanced stage in Omuthiya, Oshikoto Region. The Namibia Defence Force is actively rehearsing and showcasing their military equipment and troops in anticipation of the event.
The President of the Republic of Namibia, H.E. Dr. Nangolo Mbumba will deliver the keynote address. The gates will open to the public at 06:00.
HEROES’ DAY UPDATE - Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. George Simataa on Saturday said preparations for the Heroes' Day commemoration are progressing well at Omuthiya Recreational Park in the Oshikoto Region. Dr. Simataa urged Namibians to attend the 34th Heroes’ Day commemoration in numbers, reiterating the importance of honouring this significant day.
FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT - The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology would like to inform members of the public that there will be free public transport to and from the Heroes' Day commemoration that will take place on 26 August 2024 at Omuthiya Recreational Park, Omuthiya, Oshikoto Region.
The buses will pick up members of the public to attend the Heroes' Day commemoration from the identified pick-up points from 05:00.

HEROES’ DAY BUILD - Omuthiya is currently gearing up for Heroes’ Day celebrations scheduled for 26 August 2024.
This year’s Heroes’ Day will be celebrated under the theme “Honoring Our Martyrs (Heroes and Heroines).” Thousands of people are expected to attend the event in the Oshikoto region.
