ENCOURAGEMENT. (Acts 11:22-26) The name Barnabas means " son of encouragement). It was a nickname given to Joseph (see 4:36) because of his lifelong practice of coming alongside others to support and advise them. Barnabas was a kind man who enjoyed helping me delivers grow in their faith. He was willing to believe in Saul (9:26-28) and John Mark (15:36-40) when nobody else wanted to give him a chance. If you want to make a major difference in the lives of your family members, make a practice if encouraging them. Praise them whenever they do something right; tell them that you believe in hem; go to their games; cheer them on; remind them that they can do it. Sincere encouragement will make a big difference. MAY YOU RECEIVE THE GRACE TO TRY ONE TODAY IN JESUS NAME AMEN..
COMMITMENT. (Psalm 34:9-10)
We can reverence the Lod in at least two ways. First, we can hold him in such high honor that we always try to follow his ways. Second, we can worship him and study his word for guidance. Take great pain to study, learn, and follow every directive God has given you in the Bible no matter how busy life becomes. Even if it's only three minutes a day, spend time reading and thinking about God's word. That is where you will get the strength and character to be the husband, wife, parent, or family member God wants you to be. COMMITMENT. May God help us all amen.

MATURITY ( Genesis 44:16-34)
Joseph carefully orchestrated a whole chain of events to make it appear as if Benjamin has stolen the Pharoah's gracious cup. Joseph figured that the ensuing concentration would show once and for all whether his older brothers would stand up for his siblings, or whether they would abandon Benjamin as they had done to Joseph years before. Judah's moving plea for mercy, his heartfelt concern for his father, and his willingness to serve as a substitute for his accused brother brought Joseph to tears. Judas was not the callous man who has once suggested selling Joseph into slavery; over the years he has become a caring and sensitive son and brother. Can your family see you changing and growing into what God wants you to be? Have the humility to let them see progress. MATURE! MATURE! MATURE, GROW UP.
HOME SWEET HOME. (1st Kings 4:25).
Under king Solomon's reign, every family in Judah and Israel lived in peace and safety. Each family can have its own home and garden. As leaders in the home and families, parents have a responsibility to provide a safe, stable place everyone can call home. Don't allow over-scheduling, personal concerns, or problems to take over. Keep an eye on everyone's stress level, and when it is getting too high, take the lead in reducing it. Being a good parent sometimes involves canceling a planned outing. Insist on turning off the TV when it matters. Remember there can be nothing like HOME SWEET HOME.
APPRECIATION. (Ruth 1:8)
Naomi had every reason to cling to Ruth and Oprah. After all, she had no one else in the world to help her, she was a poor widow with a bleak future. But rather than make these two women obligated to care for her, she released them with a word of appreciation. She thanked them for their help and expressed hope that God would bless them for their kindness. Many people have difficulty expressing appreciation; the words get stuck in their hearts and never go beyond good intentions. Have you expressed appreciation to a loved one recently? Do it today!
OUR TALK ON THE BOOK OF RUTH CONTINUES.
High hopes? Lofty goals? Strong finish? a God-blessed life amid human pain and loss?
The legacy of a good name is hard to measure.
NOTE: 1. Death and grief (Ruth 1). Naomi changes her name because her life has turned bitter with loss. 2. Loyalty (2) Though of different cultures, Ruth and Naomi became a family. They have no power, prestige, or prospects -- just a mutual commitment to stand by each other.
3 Marriage (Ruth 3-4). As God draws two people together, grief is replaced with the joy of a new future and a house full of children.
4. Key Verse: " But Ruth replied, 'don't make me leave you, for I want to go wherever you go and to live wherever you live, your people shall be my people and your God shall be my God" (Ruth.1:16).
5 Key People: Ruth, Naomi, Boaz. 6. Setting: A dark time in Israel's history when people lived to please themselves not God. (Judges 17:6).
LOOKING AT THE BOOK OF RUTH AGAIN.
1. PURPOSE
It is to show how three people remained strong in character and true to God even when the society around them was collapsing.
2. SETTING
A dark time in Israel's history when people lived to please themselves, not God.( Judges 17:6)
3. NAMES
Names carry meanings. What name today connotes intelligence? Strength of Character? Beauty? Toughness? We build such associations in many ways, but mostly through stories. Stories create impressions about a person's character based only on a name. What's your image on Ruth? What quality do you expect from a person so named? Would you vote for Ruth? Marry a Ruth? Name a child Ruth?
You are about to read an ancient Hebrew story about an obscure non-Hebrew woman whose name carries world association.
Note her character well. Cultivate her strength. Imagine her struggle and pains. Refresh yourself in the simplicity if her virtues. Note the aura of happiness that surrounds her. God made her life and those she touched remarkable examples of redemption and fulfillment. What traits will your children associate with your name (to be continued)
