🎉I offer a series of 5 FREE nature based coaching sessions as part of the course I completed at Innersteps.

✳️The trajectory does not have to be a difficult one, but a serious question you  would like to explore and clarify is important to be able to coach. We will walk for 1 - 1,5 hours in Amstelpark or Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam area) while talking .

👭Recently, I experienced my own nature -  based coaching journey with a coach who guided me during the 5 sessions. The nature-based coaching trajectory combined the contemplative practice of Forest Bathing with a more active nature based coaching activity.

Throughout the process, we used nature symbols to help me find clarity and understanding. For instance, in our 4th  session “Enhancing Your Inner Strength”, I was invited to use natural objects to represent my soul’s natural qualities and turn them into a circle. Soul’s qualities are those that we naturally embody and make us unique. Sometimes is not so easy to recognize your qualities and standing in the middle of the circle increased my inner strength.

⭐This creative process, using symbols and metaphors in nature, enabled me to connect with new perspectives and views. It was both challenging and enjoyable, and I now carry with me the sensations of that deep connection to myself and a step – by – step plan I agreed with myself to achive what I want to accomplish.

One of my favourite places I recently visited in Tenerife was the Anaga Rural Park. Home to towering peaks, mysterious cloud forests and remote black-sand beaches.

The Anaga Rural Park was classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2015, I hiked through El Pijaral, also known as the Enchanted Forest (Bosque Encantado). Cloud forests, also known as laurel forests, date back to the Tertiary period, making them prehistoric.

Up until 22,000 years ago, these incredible forests were found across much of northern Africa and southern Europe. Today they are not as common, though can be found on islands in the Atlantic ocean (Canary islands as well as the Azores and Madeira islands), as well as parts of Asia and Africa.

The forests are quite magical in appearance. Tall, dark trees stand mystically, their trunks twisting and coated with thin layers of green moss.

I did not see any prehistoric creatures but it felt like they could emerge at any moment 😊

In September I finished my training to learn how to coach in nature. I wanted to experience my own process and Miranda is guiding me. We already had two very interesting sessions together. In the first session I created a still life, using different elements I found in nature as symbols of my life situation at the moment.
The little snow woman in the first photo is Susana version 5.0, under construction :).
During the second session we explored what is my desire, my goal. That desire is represented by the tree in the picture, a strong tree, also colorful, with long branches reaching different places.
Miranda adds the power of writing to the coaching process, she invites me to write what I am experiencing during the coaching session and she also gives me very interesting writing homework.
Looking forward to the coming 3 sessions.

Snowy Forest Bathing Walk yesterday in Amstelpark.
Thank you to the participants for joining with a temperature of cero degrees!. We warmed ourselves up with herbal tea and some self massage and Qigong exercises included in the nature connection activities.
I was reading yesterday how Forest Bathing and nature connection can help people with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Yesterday we could enjoy the beauty of the snow and cold weather.

New and nice experience guiding two couples who experienced some of the nature connection activities together.

I am following a training to learn how to Coach IN NATURE and I am super excited about it.
Last week I had my first session with a trial client in a park in the center of Amsterdam and, the experience was incredible.

🌳This is a picture of my office in the park, under a beautiful tree. A special energy just surrounded us. The park was crowded but I did not hear any sounds only the voice of my trial client.

🔘A characteristic of this methodology is the use of metaphors and symbols from nature. By carefully studying the symbol and asking questions about it, connection to the client’s inner feelings and insights is restored. You can see a picture of the beautiful symbol my trial client created about her life at this moment using elements from nature.

🚶‍♀️We started the session with a 10 mn walking meditation. Walking in nature helps you to quiet the mind. Nature is calming, and therefore you will be able to listen better to your inner feelings.

🕺As you walk, you are in a moving state, all that is stuck in your head, will then also easily come into motion.

Do In class on the road! :)
Yesterday we had our weekly on line session. The class was about the wood element and I was teaching from Mitjanas, a beautiful Hotel rural, a Masia in Gerona.
Incredible surroundings, hotel in the middle of the Forest with a really nice studio to practise Do In. The perfect place to connect with the wood element and energy.

Hello, my name is Susana and I will be your  certified guide during these Forest Bathing walks. 

Spring is coming, we can enjoy even more connecting with nature and we don’t need to travel far to participate.  

Close to home urban natural environments providing day-to-day stress relieving effects have been seen crucial to one’s wellbeing , for example, through reducing anxiety and reducing stress hormones such as cortisol. 

The guided walk will last around 2 - 2,5 hours, we’ll walk no more than a kilometer and a half, which should give you a notion of our pace. I’ll be proposing a series of activities that are aimed at awakening the senses and connect with nature.

Mi primer baño de bosque guiado en un parque de Madrid. Tenía muchísimas ganas de compartir esta experiencia con ellas y lo hemos conseguido!. Ha sido una hora, un baño de bosque express medio improvisado que nos ha dejado con ganas de más. Hemos terminado con un pequeño ritual de celebración del solsticio de invierno en la naturaleza y el sol nos ha regalado unos momentos de luz y calor estupendos

Y después de una semana lloviendo sin parar doble arcoiris!. Toma ya!.

Viviendo en los Países Bajos no termino de acostumbrarme al gris y siempre busco el sol, el azul y la luz. He descubierto una forma de convivir con el clima y ha sido gracias a mis paseos en la naturaleza. Aprendiendo a apreciar la belleza en el gris y en la lluvia, los cambios que se observan en la naturaleza. La explosión de color en primavera no sería igual si no existiera el invierno :).
Antes no conocía el trastorno afectivo estacional (SAD en inglés ). Relacionado con los cambios de estación, el trastorno comienza y finaliza aproximadamente en la misma época cada año. Si eres como la mayoría de las personas con este trastorno, tus síntomas comienzan en otoño y continúan durante los meses de invierno y, durante este período, tienes menos energía y te sientes de mal humor. Los síntomas suelen desaparecer durante los meses de primavera y verano.
La naturaleza y el shiatsu pueden ayudar mucho a apreciar las cualidades que también existen en el gris y a prepararnos para estos meses.

Hello, my name is Susana, registered Shiatsu Practitioner qualified in 2008 with the Amigos del Shiatsu school (Madrid). Ratified school by A.P.S.E. ( Asociación de Profesionales de Shiatsu de España) and the E.S.F (European Shiatsu Federation).

Since I discovered Shiatsu I became a "Shiatsusi" and, my personal and professional life have been linked to this therapy. Always trying to extend my knowledge I have studied a postgraduate course in Movement Shiatsu with David Ventura, specialized shiatsu courses (Carola Beresfoord-Cooke, Bill Palmer, Suzanne Yates..), Chinese Medicine and foundations of acupuncture and Foundations of Western Medicine (Shenzhou University. Amsterdam 2019 - MBK Plato).

Shiatsu is a form of communication through touch, I really love this way of communication with others. It is a particularly effective way to feel more connected and navigate the ups and downs of life. With my Do – In class I want to share exercises which can be practiced by anyone, in anyplace, using only a short period of time; and therefore, they can easily be a part of our daily life.
