We always talk about engaging our core, and we hear instructors and personal trainers hammering away at engaging or bracing our core. But let’s break this down - how do we "brace our core”, and why is this so important. You’ll learn about the difference between core control, core brace, and a brief introduction into some of the best ways to strengthen your core. You’ll also get a chance to ask any questions you have.
All you need is a bit of space, a notepad if you want to take notes, all your questions, and be willing to try some of the exercises out during the session.

Your workouts, performance, calorie burn, and the results per minute spent lifting / moving / exercising is only as efficient as your technique.
Take the time to learn and perfect your technique, in order to find the most efficient movement biomechanics for your body.
(Regardless of how fast you can drive, the driver with the best driving technique will always have an edge over you.)

Path to every goal is made up of a combination of single steps. All you need to do today is to take one step in the right direction, then another tomorrow, another the day after, and one day without realising, you would’ve reached your destination.

Kicking off this weekend, I’ll be coaching you through this on Sundays 4:45 pm and Thursdays 6:00 am at LM Newmarket. Make use of this seasonal program while it’s on the timetable for 4 months.
WORKSHOP: FOUNDATIONAL MOVEMENTS
Saturday 22 May 2021 - 12:00 noon at Les Mills Newmarket
Free entry to the gym and workshop for Open Day.
Learn how to execute the foundational movements that form the basis of most of what we do in group fitness classes and the gym. Learn how to do these moves effectively, avoid injuries and set yourself up to get the most out of your workouts.
Learn your current capabilities and limitations, and plan to progress these movements over time. Find out the missing links that are holding you back.
We will focus on effective biomechanics around planks, squats and deadlifts.
Bring along any questions and difficulties that are currently holding you back. You will get a chance to understand and practice these moves, and to ask any questions you have.
