According to the Hindu Puranas, Laxmi emerged from the water along with the nectar during the churning of ocean done by the Gods and Demons. Water is a symbol of love and Laxmi is depicted as sitting on a lotus which is floating in water. Lotus is the symbol of dispassion.
A droplet of water moves freely on the lotus petals, which indicates that when we are not attached to wealth, life is light like a flower. Also, it is believed that this type of wealth is life supporting and brings prosperity and abundance.
Wealth should be moving like water. Water loses its purity when it is stagnant and so is the case with wealth. The usefulness and value of wealth is highest when it is shared and is moving.
Laxmi is the Goddess of wealth and prosperity and she is worshipped for promotion, success and personal virtues. People worship her for spiritual prosperity and material abundance. It is believed that she helps remove the troubles that prevent people from moving on spiritual path or carry on their businesses.
On Diwali, Laxmi is worshipped along with Lord Ganesh, who symbolizes auspiciousness and wisdom. He is the destroyer of evils and obstacles and blesses his devotees with success. He is also believed to be the God of education and knowledge along with wisdom and wealth.
Diwali is the festival of lights and it is important you honour all aspects of wealth in life that day. Happy Diwali to everyone ! ✨ ✨❤️🎆🎇❤️‍🩹🤩🌺🎊🪔special

The word ‘Dhanteras’ is derived from two words: ‘Dhan,’ which means wealth, and ‘Teras,’ signifying the thirteenth day of the lunar fortnight. The origins of Dhanteras can be traced back to ancient Hindu mythology. There are two prominent legends associated with this festival.
One legend tells the story of the 16-year-old son of King Hima. According to a prophecy, he was doomed to die on the fourth day of his marriage due to a snake bite. However, on the day of his wedding, his newlywed wife didn't let him sleep. She placed all her gold and silver ornaments in a heap at the entrance of their room and lit countless lamps.
She then regaled him with songs and stories throughout the night, ensuring he remained awake. When the God of Death, Yama, arrived in the form of a serpent, he was blinded by the glare of the jewellery and the lamps. Unable to enter, Yama returned, and the young prince's life was spared. This tradition of lighting lamps and buying new items, especially metals, is observed to ward off evil and bring prosperity.
Another legend links Dhanteras to the churning of the ocean, known as the Samudra Manthan, in pursuit of the nectar of immortality. During this churning, several divine gifts emerged, including the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and Dhanvantari, the physician of the gods.
Dhanteras is believed to be the day when Dhanvantari, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, appeared with the knowledge of Ayurveda (traditional Indian medicine) to heal and bless humanity.

As the festive season in India approaches, one of the most auspicious and eagerly awaited days is Dhanteras. Celebrated on the 13th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Kartik, which usually falls in October or November, Dhanteras marks the beginning of the grand festival of Diwali. This day holds profound historical and cultural significance, and it's a time when people engage in various customs and rituals to usher in prosperity and well-being.
HAPPY DIWALI TO EVERYONE ✨

The Sanskrit word Akshaya means “never diminishing”. This auspicious day brings eternal sunshine and peace in the lives of people who worship Laxmi Narayana with a complete fast on this day. In Hinduism, this day is considered a mark of a new beginning and success. As per Hindu philosophy and culture, this day is called Sarva Siddhi Day and one can perform any auspicious activity or ceremony like house warming, marriage ceremony, purchasing of land, property, vehicle, gold, or other precious items. Akshaya Tritiya is widely celebrated as a Hindu and Jain festival. In Hinduism, a legend is associated with this day where Krishna used ‘Akshaya Patra’ a container of food that never gets empty, to satiate the hunger of Pandava princes during their exile. The day is also celebrated as the birth of Lord Parshurama, the sixth avatar of Vishnu. The day is thus considered auspicious for buying gold, starting a new venture, or even performing an act of charity. Other stories also signify this day: One such story is where Lord Krishna’s friend, Sudama gifted a bag of rice to Krishna. Seeing his friend’s humble nature, Krishna then blessed him with unlimited prosperity. Thus, the day of Akshaya Tritiya is considered to bring luck and success. People buy gold on this day as they believe that gold bought on this day will never diminish and continue to grow.
As per Vedic texts, chanting of the following mantra 108 times brings good fortune: ”Om Hreem Hreem Shreem Shreem Laxminarayanabhayam Namah” wish everyone a happy akshay tritiya

Born in a Vanar (Monkey) community, Lord Hanuman is the son of Kesari and Anjana. His birth name was Anjneya (Son of Anjana), but throughout his life he was addressed by names derived from his heroic acts. In his childhood, Lord Hanuman was very playful.
It is mentioned in the Vedic scriptures that once the child Hanuman saw the Sun and thought it was a ripe fruit. He began following the Sun with the intention of eating it. Lord Surya was scared of this little child, who insisted on having him. Finally Lord Indra intervened and attempted to convince him to let go of Surya. But Hanuman was adamant, and finally Indra decided to teach this child Hanuman a lesson and hit him on his cheeks and he fell on the ground. This infuriated Lord Varun, the God of Air and he decided to suck out all air from earth. This caused a great havoc on earth because people, trees and animals began dying due to lack of air. Finally, the other gods came to the rescue. Each of them blessed Hanuman with many powers and Lord Indra too gave him a boon of immortal life.
During the war against the evil forces of Ravana, Lord Hanuman was one of the chief warriors in Lord Rama’s army. He visited Lanka and gave a ring to Sita to reassure Her that Lord Rama was coming to rescue Her. On the battlefield, when Lord Rama’s brother, Lakshmana was injured and fell unconscious, Hanuman lifted the whole Dronagiri Mountain and brought it home when he could not find the Sanjivani herb that grew there. It is believed that Lord Hanuman was also a part of the epic battle, Mahabharata. Although he did not participate in the war but he imprinted his presence on Arjuns flag on his chariot. It was due to Lord Hanuman’s and Krishna’s combined power and protection that Arjuna’s chariot could sustain numerous attacks in the war.
Wishing everyone happy Hanumaan Jayanti ❤️

According to the legends, Goddess Lakshmi settled at Kolhapur after depfeating the demon named Kolhasur. There are four guards appointed in four direction for protection. Lord Jyotiba is the one who guards the southern direction. Some people believe that Goddess Jyotiba is an incarnation of Kedarnath, who killed the demon Ratnasur. Sasan Kathis are the symbol of emancipation of the demon’s wife and some other people believed that Jyotiba is a manifestation of Lord Shiva. Jyotiba Yatra is a three-day-long religious festival of Maharashtra held annually in the month of Chaitra at the Jyotiba Temple near Kolhapur. The festival starts on Trayodashi tithi and continues until Chaitra Purnima. People offer prayers to Goddess Jyotiba, who is believed to fulfill all their desires. The festival also features the procession of the Sasan Kathis, which are decorated 50-feet-long bamboo sticks carried by devotees. Breaking of coconut in front of Kaal Bhairav Murti is an important ritual of the Puja. Wishing everyone success and happiness on this day !

Ramnavami represents the victory of goodness over evil and it signifies the establishment that Dharma beats Adharma. The day is often started by offering Jal (water) to the Hindu God Suraj Devta (The Sun) at sunrise, who is often a time in Hindu Mythology considered as an ancestor to Lord Rama.

The significance of Ramnavami is to bring positive energy to your lives and to diminish the negative vibrations from the earth. Recitals of Rama Katha and Shrimad Bhagavatam are done to channel and remember the meaning of this auspicious occasion. Happy Ram Navmi to everyone 🙏🙏🙏

On this day, ‘Gudi' is worshipped by people of Maharashtra to mark their new year and delicious food is prepared. Know all about the Marathi New Year.

Gudi Padwa, the Marathi New Year, also marking the beginning of the harvest season, is celebrated with much fervour and enthusiasm in the state. The same day is celebrated as the first day of Chaitra Navratri in North India and Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh. Gudi Padwa is also popularly known as Samvatsara Padvo and it literally means the first day of new Samvat.

Gudi Padwa gets its name from two words - ‘gudi’, which means a flag or emblem of Lord Brahma and ‘padwa’ means the first day of the phase of the moon. This year it will be celebrated on March 22.

On the day of Gudi Padwa people wake up early in the morning, clean their houses, take a bath and decorate their front gate with beautiful rangoli designs and Gudi - which is made up of a piece of fresh cloth.
The Gudi is worshipped by people of Maharashtra to mark their new year and delicious spread is prepared from Puran Poli to Shrikhand to be enjoyed with family and friends. It is also customary to eat tender leaves of Neem and Mishri on the very first day of Samvatsara.
