We’re thrilled to announce that 'The Watson Journals' 🕵️ a film by Yoobee Film Tutors and Graduates from our Wellington campus, has been selected for the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival in San Diego this July 25-28, 2024.

The TWJ Team represented by Yoobee Film Graduate, Georgia Hurley (Producer), and Yoobee Level 6 Film Tutor duo Michael Cox (Director) and Ebed Pohl (Cinematographer), will be flying to the US to attend the film screening, filmmakers panel, and other exciting events. 🎬

About the film:
A dark, gritty reimagining of the Characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock Holmes, called The Watson Journals. The focus is on the story of Dr John Watson post WW2 (a new original timeline the Sherlock Holmes world hasn't seen).

Logline:
When Dr John Watson returns home to a ransacked 221B Baker St, an unconscious Sherlock, and no sign of Mrs Hudson, he must act in his own way protect the people he loves - no matter the cost.

Relive the Overload NZ Yoobee experience! From live drawings, to the amazing artworks showcased and sold by our students and tutors, the two-day event was a surplus of creativity. Anime cosplay characters were brought to life, and the fun and interactive draw-along sessions was a hit to the young and promising talents. 🎨✨

Our team set up an exciting booth for Yoobee, where we've had interactive sessions on character creation using Zbrush to bring young, budding talents' Animations to life! + demos by our Make-up Artistry students! 🖌

What a treat our level 6 film students had this week! 🎥

Oscar-winning and world-renowned cinematographer Roger Deakins along with his wife James joined a zoom call with Wellington's level 6 film students on Wednesday. Among Deakins' extensive 50-year cinematography portfolio is films such as 1917, Shawshank Redemption, Sicario, No Country For Old Men, Prisoners and many many more.
The students were absolutely delighted to get this amazing opportunity to chat to a film legend and ask him questions.

Following the Government announcement today, New Zealand is moving to Alert Level 4 in response to COVID-19. This means all our campuses will be shut to students from tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March 2020 for four weeks.

We have invested in digital tools in order to stream the delivery of all of our programs and we foresee minimal disruption to our current and future students. Delivery of streamed online classes will begin from the 6th April.
