This year we are doing things a little different and asking YOU who you would like to see perform at the Christchurch Hip Hop Summit 2023, this will be a free, but ticketed R18 event on Thursday 28th September.

Nominations for artists are open NOW and will close Monday 14th August at 4pm.

The top 10 artists with the most votes will be picked, and sets will be 15 minutes each.

Spread the word, share the post, tag your artist friends who you want see rock the stage this year.

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and spent time over your break with those you loved. It’s a New Year. New Goals. New Plans. Above everything I encourage you to practice self care daily. Self care is not just about pampering , it is also about applying yourself to things that you find difficult. We all have challenges. Biggest challenge out. Being Honest with ourselves. Until we do this we miss out on true self care. Know yourself. Your strengths. Your weaknesses. Your values. Your code. Look at your future and see where you want to be in a year, five years and ten. Don’t let life just happen. Create your life! This is self care! And that starts with honesty.

You do you! Create the world you want. This means the friends you surround yourself with. The work you do. The house you live in. Your relationships. Partner and family. Work out what your wants are and your needs. It’s easy to drift along in a “current” harder to swim upstream. We value what we work for. Work for the life that brings you growth, friends that are like family, family that are your friends. Stoke your fire! Warm up your world. Be someone else’s inspiration. Be your best you!

Guilt and self care seem to go hand in hand. This where we need to tell our inner critic to take a hike with vehemence! Our inner critic only ever repeats lies. It convinces us that lies are truth. Do you like being lied too? No! Then train your mind. Tell your inner critic to take a grand old hike. And replace it with truth. You are worthy. We all are. Take the guilt out of self care which actually is self discipline.

Knowing your WHY helps with your focus! Our 21st century has burnout at the top of the list. Self care is making you a priority. Looking after yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Whatever that looks like for you!

As a mother I got used to drinking cold coffee. However, my babies have grown! Now, I’m a business owner and cold coffee is still a thing... distracted by marketing, paperwork and on going learning a cup can be forgotten!

Lockdown!! How are you doing? I struggled Wednesday. Was soooo frustrated. Facing reality. It can be hard. So I distracted my head and cleaned my house (it organises my head). Thursday I wasn’t as frustrated but still needed distraction so it was the garages turn and I mowed my lawns... Friday was full of hope and acceptance. It is what it is. I am grateful for my health. For my immune system. For my family at home and at . It’s ok to struggle, it’s ok to feel overwhelmed. Reaching out has helped. And that is what being a team of 5 million is about. Respecting each other and looking out for each other. I recently attended a Mike King event. He said to aim for 2 people a day where you lift them up no matter how you feel. Giving reflects back. It’s beautiful and amazing. Stay safe lovely people. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!!!

I love this. The only person I am comparing myself to is the person I was six months ago. I have set a goal. And I am lucky and grateful to work within and train with and .coaching. It’s not about being at the top. It’s about being fit and healthy. Being mobile and agile. It’s facing the fear and doing it anyway. I got asked today was I enjoying the exercise? I am!! For so long I was a bundle of pain but thanks to trying Cryotherapy I am loving being able to move and feeling strength and mobility return. I love working out in a non judgemental but supportive and friendly environment. I can’t wait to meet me in 6 months!!
