Hi everyone the top track is closed today because of burst water pipe.
The main water line will be turned off sometime today for about hour or so to repair it, then the track should be open again for weekend, will keep you updated.....
Kia ora everyone, just quick update on the fish passage we implemented into cedar creek, it seems to be working really well and we will be further monitoring the stream with Otago University and local schools.
Our main aim has been to help improve connectivity of the creek so tuna, koura, and rare native fish such as galaxiid can move more easily upstream to improve their breeding grounds.
We would like to say special thanks to DG engineering, Matt Salmon from ORC, McConnell Dowell creative construction, Pete Hodgson and Steve Walker with West harbour beautification trust for their support in this project.
Hi there Pete has organized a couple of lovely Kwila seats from Cargill enterprises for Matthews track , we're sure they will be well enjoyed, also we have some community planting days coming up if you would like to come plant a tree, we'll let you know what days beforehand.
We would like to say a special thanks to Les and his team from McConnell Dowell Creative Construction, for the amazing job upgrading the track after replacing all the main pipes throughout the area, it will be well appreciated by everyone !
Kia ora everyone, we get asked about the Salmon hatchery here in Sawyers Bay quite a lot and whats going on with it.
The Salmon hatchery is still running under its community trust with new management in place. The aim is still to release Salmon into the harbour as part of Dunedins Salmon City in the future.
Thanks to Delta for all the woodchips over the years, from our working group and the community.
We would just like to thank the community for all the help and support over the years with our working group. Well done everyone !
