🍺 Beer Style: A classic German sour smothered with blackberries and cherries. This refreshing, spritzy beer will satisfy your hallowed and fiendish desires.

David has been a brewer at Emerson's for over a year now and not only does he bring his knowledge, but he plays a big role in Emerson’s team culture. We're stoked to have this Blackberry & Cherry Berliner Weisse in this lineup and can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for us next.

🍺 Beer Name: Das Bock - Dunkel Bock
🍺 Beer Style: This Dunkel Bock is a German style dark strong lager with a mahogany brown colour and chocolatey aroma. Flavoured with a hint of dry red fruits to finish. Wunderba.

Don't let his love for West Coast IPAs fool you. It takes an experienced brewer to perfect a Dunkel Bock. Lucky for us, Gary exemplifies a passion for brewing. We're stoked to have Das Bock in this line-up.

🍺 Beer Name: The Cellarman - Bamberger Lager
🍺 Beer Style: Smooth and balanced, Cellarman offers a honey-like sweetness with malty biscuit notes. Inspired by 1700s recipes, this old dog boasts bold aromas of pepper and red apple, with a hint of floral complexity. Old-school brewing at its best.

About Jobe: Jobe's love for hops started long before he could even enjoy a beer. From homebrewing beginnings to mastering his craft at Otago Brew School, he’s now a valued member of the Emerson’s brewing family. We’re thrilled to have The Cellarman on tap—can’t wait for you to try it!

🍺 Beer Name: Festhalten - Hefewizen
🍺 Beer Style: This unfiltered wheat beer boasts a naturally hazy appearance. Expect bold banana flavours, complemented by a subtle hint of clove. With a medium body and a slightly dry finish, this easy-drinking brew is perfect for Oktoberfest celebrations.

About Ais: Originally from Ireland, Ais is best known for her annual St Patrick's day release beers. Both Rebel Red and Dear Dublin have been wildly popular these past few years. She's been with Emerson's since 2017 and we love having her a part of the team.

🍺 Beer Style: A clean, elegant, bready malt flavours dominate this deceptively easy drinking strong pale lager. The perfect beer to begin, or end your Octoberfest celebrations.

About Jim: Since 2005, Jim has helped shape us into the iconic brewery we are today. With nearly two decades of brewing expertise, his dedication to the craft has been key to creating the brews that have become favorites across New Zealand. We can't wait to try Mein Helles Bock.

Yellow-eyed penguins/Hoiho are endemic to Aotearoa and classified as nationally endangered. The mainland breeding population has declined by 78% over the past 15 years and faces a number of threats including fisheries bycatch, human disturbance, predation and disease. Protection of the mainland’s approximately 130 breeding pairs and their offspring each year is critical to the survival of the species on our shores.

The Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust, the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital, and The OPERA – Otago Peninsula Eco Restoration Alliance, work closely together to weave a kete of support for the fewer than 500 hoiho remaining on mainland New Zealand. In coordination with DOC and others, the collaborators monitor, uplift, treat, and rehabilitate sick, injured, and starving hoiho, ultimately releasing them back into the wild.

Native to Dunedin, just like Emerson's, let's all do our part to save this beautiful bird.

Voting now open! We made a beer for Bird of the Year with our friends at Dunedin Wildlife Hospital, The Otago Peninsula Eco Restoration Alliance, and Monarch Wildlife Cruises. Vote Hoiho, 5.4% New Zealand Pale Ale, is crafted with Garston Rakau hops, along with Riwaka Amplifire hop oil from Clayton. Emerson’s will donate a $1 per litre sold, a total of $1000 to the organisations.
