Mauri ora!
Tēnā tātau..
Some of you may have already met our tauira over the past week who has joined us on a 5 week student placement. Nau mai e hine!
Kia ora! I’m Mereana - a physio student from the University of Auckland.
I grew up in Ōhiwa and whakapapa back to Okataina (Ngāti Tarāwhai). Before moving to Rotorua in 2022, I spent a lot of time in the South Island and overseas skiing. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science but wanted to work with people so have started this degree in physiotherapy. I look forward to meeting you all in the next few weeks and getting to learn from Jock and Karamea.
Stoked to be able to tautoko this kaupapa by sponsoring Darcee JayGee who is doing some incredible mahi in our community!
Sounds like this kaupapa has been postponed so keep an eye out for the new date! 🙌
Meet Darcee Manuirirangi - who we're thrilled will be participating in our charity football match this Sunday 🙌
Darcee was raised in Rotorua and is a former student of many kura’s here. You may know her from stocking your shelves at The Warehouse Rotorua, or from the classes for a koha she runs at Rotorua HipHop/Dance 💃
"I love to help our community and be an inspiration to our tamariki and rangatahi, so when I got the invitation to 'kick for a cause', I definitely couldn’t say no. I haven’t played soccer since intermediate, but I’m looking forward to the challenge and meeting all the amazing people who are coming together to make this day happen in support of The Salvation Army", says Darcee.
Darcee is sponsored by Mauri Tū Physiotherapy, who are striving to demonstrate that physiotherapy grounded in Te Ao Māori is the future of the profession.
