Father and twin sons to lead Team NZL into Townsville Multisport extravaganza - TRI NZ The Miller boys of Triathlon Tauranga fame, dad Paul and twin sons Blake and Liam, have been selected as Team NZL flag-bearers for the Parade of Nations to open the World Triathlon Multisport Championships in Townsville.

π³πΏπ³πΏπ³πΏ
I would like to introduce you to our Flag Bearers for the Parade of Nations happening on Thursday the 15th of August at 4.30pm.
Congratulations to Paul Miller, Liam Miller and Blake Miller. Those that donβt know the Millers; Paul is the dad and Blake and Liam are Paulβs twin sons.
All three hail from Triathlon Tauranga and live and breathe the sport of Triathlon. It all started with their mum Kathy doing triathlon over 20 years ago and the entire family fell in love with the sport (or got roped into it).
Paul is the Events and Development Manager for Triathlon plus Race Director extraordinaire not only at Triathlon Tauranga events but also works on many other events such as the NZ Summer Series, NZ Schools Triathlon, Mt Festival and more. Paul competed at the Multisport World Championships in Ibiza 2023 and is returning to race in the aquathlon here in Townsville. As well as competing you will also see Paul working for the event team here in Townsville, he never stops!
Blake is Youth Development Coordinator at Triathlon Tauranga and also on the Committee. Blake has also recently become heavily involved with Race Ranger and is not only racing in Townsville but also then putting on his Race Ranger hat for the elite races. Blake first represented New Zealand at the World Triathlon Grand Final on the Gold Coast in 2018 and was a double gold medallist at the Multisport World Championships in Ibiza 2023.
Liam is what I refer to as the silent achiever. Liam not only races short course he also recently qualified at Ironman NZ to qualify to race in Kona and qualified for the 70.3 Ironman World Championships being held in Taupo in December. Liam provide himself invaluable at our recent World Championships in Ibiza by being essential in helping athletes with bike issues and now has earnt his role at Team Bike Mechanic in Townsville. Liam first represented New Zealand at the World Triathlon Grand Final on the Gold Coast in 2018 and was a gold medallist at the Multisport World Championships in Ibiza 2023.
Congratulations to the Millers and thank you for not only embracing the Tri NZ Age Group Team but our sport.
