I was having one of those mornings when you wonder how anything else could possible go haywire. As I arrived at work feeling a bit sorry for myself I saw this sign at Magpie at Paremata next door.
It made me smile, then I started reflecting on all the things that were going well, and how no matter what happens that everyday is actually perfectly imperfect!
The actual ‘perfect’ moments or ‘blooming times’ do happen occasionally but more of life happens in the messy stuff so I’m working on smiling in those times too!

Of course you all know today is World Spine Day!
We were business as usual looking after spines at Chiropractic Balance, here’s Roz adjusting mum, then her 8week old bubs adjustment is next.
Pregnancy and the birth process are tough on mum and bubs spines and nervous system. We love it when they come along together to get their chiropractic tune ups, such a boost to their ability to co-regulate and both be their best!

Lifting Smarter not Harder!
Why: Your spine is very strong when it is in good alignment and posture. Using your spine like a crane or when it is out of ideal alignment, can cause acute injuries or chronic issues with your back and spine. Correct lifting helps protect your spine from strain and damage.
Technique: Bend at your knees, not at your waist. Keep the object close to your body as you lift. Engage your core muscles and use your legs to lift, not your back. Avoid twisting your body while lifting; instead, turn with your feet. Check out video to understand how you can apply this.

I’m back from my overseas adventure and enjoying adjusting our practice members again!
Whilst in the UK I caught up with the team at Hope Spinal Wellness and got an adjustment from Dr Veronica Hope. This is where I worked before coming back to NZ and starting Chirobalance, I even got to see one of my patients who is now part of staff.
It was great to see Veronica 12 years on, still rocking it with great health and vitality in her 50s! She continues to inspire me to keep up my healthy lifestyle habits to give me the best chance of having her energy and quality of life in another 15 years 😁

Roz
Another week in France… Even though the kids still have minimal appreciation for the amazing old towns or the cheese, they are loving the adventure each day brings, all the swimming, the Tour de France atmosphere, the European late nights, attempting to ask for things in French, pastry for breakfast and of course the theme park! A few pics from Nîmes, Tour de France, Chateau Bellafontaine, Camargue wetlands, Arles & Walibi Theme Park.
Stella visiting mum (Melanie) at work and getting herself ready for her appointment. It doesn't take long for toddlers to go from being unsure about what is happening to loving it.
One of the ways Cole and Roz adjust you is by using blocks under your Pelvis.
The blocks are placed in a specific way to bring your body towards balance. Then the weight of your pelvis lying on the blocks combined with your breathing, bring about the adjustment in your body.
Most people find it very relaxing and are in more ease afterwards.
Dr. Cole will be taking care of everyone while Roz is away on holiday in France for 5 weeks starting from the 4th of July. If you need an appointment with Roz before she leaves, there are a few slots available over the next two weeks, so please book quickly.

Getting inspired teaching and refreshing in Auckland this weekend
True health is about being able to adapt to your environment, thanks to all of the people who came for adjustments today whilst we had no power, it was a different experience practicing in a dark room with no music, lucky adjustments are mostly about feeling not seeing.
Here’s us finishing the day with a lamp at reception and a glow in the adjusting room.
