100 years apart. Mark Pacey from the Wairarapa Archives found a lovely historic photo
"Shows a truck of W. Chapman & Sons parked outside the Greytown Hotel. It has a stock crate on the tray with several cattle inside. Five men are by the truck and in the cab. The man standing at right is William Chapman. Dates between 1920 and 1925."
To day July 13 2024, the picture shows Kerry Aitken Greytown, Stock Truck parked outside the Greytown Hotel. From left to right Lance Styles, Kerry Aitken and Tony Murphy Publican.
The Old Pub is looking very similar, and great to see its survival, still pouring pints and going strong, the stock truck has defintely seen technology advances, the men well what can I say - the character of this old place is still defintely in full swing!
Here to another 100 years of operation.

Thanks so much! Had a great stay. Loved the hotel, and the note from the Japanese lady spelled it out well! Loved the cleanliness and top notch service but also the ambiance was off the charts! I love it, and I will recommend it to anyone staying in Greytown!
Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Kaila
