A City Tavern: The Featherston, since 1984.

As we approach our 40th year, it’s important to recognise what our stunning pub has seen and done in its time.

Our stunning building was constructed and designed by the brilliant Gummer & Ford in 1937 to house the New Zealand Insurance Company (NZI). The tavern still maintains the original vaults and offices used by the company before they moved.

During 1984, The Featherston: A city tavern, was made and has remained there for 40 years. Since then, the tavern has seen many faces that have brought many changes with it.

Currently, we pride ourselves on building further, more connected relationships with our customers and community.

We have monthly Blue Plate Specials, providing customers with great value for money, $19 meals daily. Ideal during a time where prices are constantly on a rise.

We have over 28 kiwi-made spirits and a constantly changing craft beer fridge filled with local and / or kiwi craft beers. Brewing in New Zealand and, in particular, Wellington is on a rise, with breweries creating the some of the most flavourful beers you can taste!

On the last Friday of every month we show support for by participating in our karma can, where you can purchase a range of local craft beers at a price you offer. All proceeds are given to the Wellington free ambulance, to help ensure such an amazing, life saving service remains in our community.

We hold weekly meat raffles on Fridays that are supplied by Taranaki Prime meat. All funds given to a range of charitable organisations that aim to make Wellington the gorgeous city it is. Some organisations include: and . Tickets are $3 each or $10 for 3.

We are a pub that provides great food and beer, community support and hospitality.
