We had an amazing time at the SCJPS Student Development Activities on September 3, 2024, at the UB Gym! It was a day filled with inspiring discussions on Character Formation and Leadership for Criminology and Forensic Science Students, Understanding Human Rights: Foundations for Justice, and Building Bridges: Empowering Students through Peace Education.

Big thanks to C4NB for leading the way during our morning session and to our awesome speakers during the afternoon session for sharing their wisdom. A big acknowledgment to all the clubs that pitched in, especially JPC and the Praeclaurus Society.

🩸Get a good night’s sleep before the donation day to avoid feeling faint or dizzy.
🩸 Wear a short-sleeved shirt or a shirt with sleeves that can be easily rolled up, as the blood will be drawn from your arm.
🩸No medications at least 24 hours prior to donation.
🩸Do not donate blood if you're tattooed for less than a year.

SCJPS Student Body Highlights – First Month in Action!

The SCJPS Student Body has been busy making an impact as the new academic year begins:

🏫 We kicked off by helping at Lindawan Elementary School for Brigada Eskwela, ensuring the school was ready for the new term.

🌍 We participated in the Global Youth Summit at SM City Baguio, engaging with youth leaders on important global issues.

📜 Our Constitutional Convention was a success, joined by the UB Senate President, SCJPS Senator, and SSC President, who helped guide our strategic plans for the year.

👥 We took part in organizing the General Orientation for SCJPS students, helping everyone feel welcomed and prepared.

📚 We also stand in full support of our CLE takers, cheering them on as they pursue success.

And it doesn’t end here! Before August closes, catch us at University Welcome Week as we join forces with SCJPS clubs for exciting events and activities. The journey’s just beginning! 💪✨

| Amendment of the University Dress Code Policy as stipulated in OSA Circular No. 1 series of 2024.

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the University of Baguio Supreme Student Council (UB SSC) released a Joint Memorandum Circular on the updated guidelines on the University Dress Code Policy dated August 12, 2024 (Monday).

Through a meeting held July 12, 2024 (Friday), both parties unanimously agreed to revise the aforementioned policy.

Some of the noteworthy updates to the policy include:
- 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗗 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀: Only University of Baguio and School-approved ID laces and/or lanyards are allowed;
- 𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲-𝘂𝗽: Hair color and makeup is allowed as long as it is kept to a minimum;
- 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: These should be applied in a manner that respects individual gender expression. Thus, students are expected to dress appropriately for an academic setting, maintaining a neat and professional appearance.

This year's Martial Arts Day, themed "Justice in Motion: A Martial Arts Day Competition for the Future Defenders," was a resounding success!

The event kicked off with inspiring words from Dean Charesma Grace Lud-ayen, who emphasized the true essence of martial arts: "𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁."

Following the Dean's address, the esteemed judges were introduced: Sir. Rey Samson, who further highlighted the values of judo and arnis, and Mr. Jorge Borja Jr.

The gym was filled with excitement as students showed off their martial arts moves they learned from Ma'am Cora Dogui-is. Judo and arnis matches were held at the same time, making it a cool display of skills and athleticism on both sides of the gym.

To all our champions who took home medals! Your hard work and dedication truly paid off. But let's not forget the amazing spirit shown by every single participant.
