The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) has announced a (One) 1-Month Moratorium for qualified member-beneficiaries of community associations in areas severely affected by Typhoon Kristine on Friday.

In line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s disaster response strategy, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar has directed immediate relief and recovery efforts for affected families.

During an interview on , Laxa stated, “Magbibigay ulit ng financial relief doon sa mga severely affected na beneficiaries natin." He added, "Ibig sabihin nito magbibigay tayo ng moratorium doon sa pagbabayad nila para maibsan naman ang kanilang mga gastusin during the time na nagre-recover pa sila dito sa kalamidad"

SHFC Laguna Branch Manager James Albeth Mabulay served as a panelist at the Calamba Housing Summit at the Hotel Marciano in Brgy. Real, Calamba, Laguna on October 18. During his presentation, he gave an overview of the corporation’s mandate and outlined its various housing programs, with a particular focus on initiatives under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

Mabulay was joined SHFC Laguna Loan Administration Unit OIC-Chief of Division Eva Brenda Amo and other staff members from the branch. Representatives from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, National Housing Authority, Home Development Mutual Fund, and local government units across the province, also graced the event.

Led by President and CEO Federico Laxa, SHFC is one of the Key Shelter Agencies implementing the 4PH, which seeks to address the country’s 6.5 million housing backlog. Currently, the agency is actively working on 12 ongoing 4PH projects, which will generate more than 45,000 units for Filipinos in need of decent, affordable, and resilient housing.

Social Housing Finance Corporation Executive Vice President (EVP) Atty. Junefe Payot joined in as a panelist at the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Association, Inc. (CREBA) Annual National Convention, held at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in Pampanga on October 18.

In his discussion, EVP Payot highlighted SHFC’s efforts to make housing both more accessible and sustainable through its community-guided financing approach. He emphasized the importance of SHFC’s vertical housing design, which not only increases housing production but also maximizes land use, allowing the corporation to accommodate more families in urban areas where land suitable for residential use is limited. He also welcomed collaboration with CREBA members.

In his message on Friday, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar called on members of CREBA to strengthen their support for the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program – the flagship initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

This year’s convention, themed “Philippine real estate and housing: Navigating the next decade,” brought together key stakeholders from the real estate and housing industries from across the country. The event aimed to address challenges and foster collaboration on initiatives that will shape the future of the sector.

Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot participated as a panelist at the 2024 Asia Pacific Shelter and Settlements Forum (APSSF), which runs from October 21 to 23 at The Heritage Hotel Manila. The forum, themed “Building Towards Inclusive and Resilient Homes and Communities,” focuses on innovative approaches to housing and shelter.

During the session titled “Building Resilience – Innovations in the Philippine Government Shelter Programs,” EVP Payot emphasized SHFC’s comprehensive approach to the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, launched under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. As a licensed urban planner, he particularly highlighted the role of the vertical housing design and the in-city housing approach in strengthening community resilience against calamities.

The APSSF, co-organized by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), serves as a platform to foster a network of shelter professionals across the Asia-Pacific region. The event encourages the exchange of knowledge and best practices to address housing challenges on local, national, and global levels.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar delivered the keynote speech at the event, reaffirming the government's commitment to reducing housing backlogs while strengthening disaster preparedness measures within the housing sector.

Alongside EVP Payot, the panel included DHSUD Undersecretary Garry De Guzman, HDMF Senior Vice President Fermin Sta. Maria, Jr., NHMFC Vice President Maria Luisa Favila, and NHA Corporate Planning Department Manager Cromwell Teves.

Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) ang unang araw ng libreng pagbibigay ng oryentasyon hinggil sa mahahalagang mga transaksyon at proseso sa Ahensyang saklaw ang mga usapin ng Title Individualization, Capital Gains Tax Exemption (CGTE), Insurance Coverage and Death Claims at Collection para sa mga miyembro-benepisyaryo (MB) ng SHFC.

Nitong nagdaang Biyernes, October 18, natapos ang unang batch ng serye ng mga orientation sa SHFC Head Office sa Makati. Pinangunahan ito ni Title Utilization and Acquired Assets Management Group (TUAMG) Vice President Marissa Diestro. Layunin ng orientation na maipaliwanag sa mga miyembro ang mga transaksyon at proseso ng ahensya matapos ang takdang aprubasyon ng kanilang loan. Naging tugon na rin ito sa karaniwang mga kahilingan ng MBs.

Kabilang sa mga nagbigay ng kanilang input sina TUAMG VP Diestro at Engr. Sean Aurelio Garcia III para sa Title Individualization. Naging katuwang rin sa talakayan si Insurance and Community Enhancement Department Manager Cesar Macaspac sa mga usapin sa Insurance Coverage at Death Claims, Margeline Kate Moncada ng Gender and Development (GAD), at Rose Cobeng ng SHFC-Quezon City Central upang talakayin ang isyu ng Collection.

Inaaasahan pa ang susunod na mga batch ng training sa mga MBs hanggang Nobyembre 29. Ayon kay Diestro, malaking tulong rin ito upang paunlarin sa pagitan ng SHFC at ng MBs ang pagtutulungan para sa mas mabilis at mabisang mga transakyon.

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) took part in the inaugural Internal Auditor’s Forum for the Housing Sector, held on October 17-18 at the DHSUD Auditorium in Quezon City.

The forum, themed “Internal Auditing – Pundasyon ng Integridad: Katuwang sa Pagpapatibay ng mga Sistema para sa Matatag na Komunidad sa Bagong Pilipinas,” highlighted the essential role of internal auditing in reinforcing systems that support resilient communities, in line with the vision for a stronger Bagong Pilipinas.

The two-day event was led by DHSUD Undersecretaries Randy Escolango and Henry Yap. SHFC Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot representing President and CEO Federico Laxa, accepted a certificate of commendation, recognizing SHFC's efforts in promoting integrity and accountability. This acknowledgment highlights SHFC's crucial role as one of DHSUD's key shelter agencies (KSAs) in building a better and stronger nation.

Vice President of Internal Audit Department Lourdes Panaligan, along with other KSA Internal Auditors, also took part in the event, which included discussions and workshops aimed at strengthening internal control systems within the department.

MAKATI CITY – SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa, Pulilan, Bulacan Hon. Mayor Maria Rosario Ochoa-Montejo, and AVECS Corporation President and CEO Celestino Baldonado signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop an eight-story condominium building on a 20,000-sqm site in Brgy. Peñabatan.

This partnership, signed on Wednesday between the local government unit (LGU), the private developer, and SHFC at the agency’s head office in Makati, focuses on developing the Mom’s Ville Ph. 1 HOAI that will benefit over 1,000 families.

SHFC Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot and Support Cluster Senior Vice President Atty. Leo Deocampo were present to witness the event.

Additionally, in compliance with Executive Order No. 34 series of 2023, a Memorandum of Agreement and a supplementary Deed of Donation covering the project site were signed between SHFC and LGU Pulilan.

President Laxa underscored that this partnership is a significant milestone in SHFC’s efforts to ensure the success of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program—the flagship housing initiative of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

Laxa voiced his confidence in the project's implementation, highlighting support from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, led by Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.

During the signing ceremony, Ochoa-Montejo and Baldonado expressed their gratitude for being part of a project that aims to uplift the living conditions of Pulileños. Also present at the signing ceremony were SHFC 4PH Central Luzon Head Prandy Vergara, SHFC Bulacan Branch Manager Myrna Sipcon, Pulilan Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Gerard Emmanuel Tayao, and Mom's Ville President Carolina Ruivivar.

The Commission on Audit (COA) held an entrance conference with the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) on Thursday at the SHFC Board Room, aimed at aligning expectations regarding the upcoming 2024 audit process.

The audit team, led by Officer-in-Charge Supervising Auditor Atty. Fausto Villanueva Jr., outlined the audit’s scope, management responsibilities, and key deliverables, which include a thorough examination of SHFC’s financial statements, the evaluation of its internal controls, and the assessment of the agency’s compliance with government regulations.

Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot, on behalf of President and CEO Federico Laxa, pledged full cooperation with the audit team and emphasized SHFC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the efficient use of public funds.

Payot also underscored the importance of the audit while expressing optimism for achieving an unmodified opinion, which reflects the organization’s adherence to sound financial practices.

The event was led by the National Shelter Month Technical Working Group Chairman Undersecretary Randy Escolango, with DHSUD Undersecretary Avelino Tolentino III delivering the keynote address to inaugurate the celebration.

Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot, representing President and CEO Federico Laxa, took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the official opening of the housing exhibit located at the DHSUD lobby.

Also present at the event were Corporate Planning and Communications Group Vice President Florencio Carandang Jr., 4PH Central Luzon Officer-in-charge Prandy Vergara, and other SHFC officials and personnel.

Proclamation No. 662, series of 1995, declared October of every year as National Shelter Month, recognizing housing as vital to the overall development of the country and the enhancement of the social, economic, and spiritual well-being of its people.
