AECID - Dia de las Personas Cooperantes 2024

July 16, 2024 - Legazpi. We reiterated our commitment to work for the respect, promotion and defense of with Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines. With our Project Manager, Almudena Villarino, attended the inauguration of the new Gender and Development Learning Hall in Region V and join the Lakaran activities to raise awareness of human rights to local authorities and CSOs. Both activities are part of the GOJUST II, European Union in the Philippines and AECID program.

On June 20th and 21st, the AECID delegation visited the 'Seaweed Industry in Hinatuan' project in Surigao del Sur. Since 2017, this initiative has supported 86 farmers and their families, significantly enhancing their livelihoods. The project has been successfully promoted and supported by CODESPA and the Local Government Unit of Hinatuan.

June 19, 2024 - Our team visit Agusan del Norte, meeting the vice governor Enrico R. Corvera and joined the inauguration of a new Gender And Development Hall in the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines office in Butuan as part of GO JUST II program. Ambassador Utray and our head of cooperation, Violeta Dominguez deliver a message of commitment for all those who dedicated their work to defense of human rights and gender equality. Gender equality, One of AECID priorities, is the topic of our last workshop in Cotabato. "Gender equality, Rights and Justice in BARMM" is a sharing space to learn about gender mainstreaming in development and justices polices in the region. 13 May 2024 - Our Ambassador Miguel Utray delivered a solidarity message during the CHR annual Partners Summit in Quezon city and welcomed the launching of the new Management and Information System, developed within Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines GOJUST II project AECID.

"Before this project, the only training we knew was the training for war; now we are trained for peace. Without peace, development cannot be achieved”. A middle-aged participant refers to the Communities for Learning and Employment Project, implemented by our partner CFSI - Community and Family Services International in the 6 M**F camps in BARMM.
Our team visited this project funded by AECID, which aims to provide skills trainings and resources to these communities to improve their livelihoods and to facilitate their access to formal employment. The team have observed the ongoing trainings on agriculture and baking and participated in community dialogues where the participants expressed their challenges and the impacts of this intervention.

Yesterday, (18-Apr-2024), we had our periodic meeting with NGOs, where the dedicated efforts and impactful work of these organizations through the projects funded by AECID were presented. Together we discussed the challenges faced in the field and exchanged proposals to enhance coordination and communication. Ayer (18-abr-2024), mantuvimos nuestra reunión periódica con las ONGs en la que se puso de manifiesto el esfuerzo dedicado y el impacto del trabajo de estas organizaciones a través de los proyectos financiados por la AECID. Juntas discutimos los desafíos que enfrentan en el terreno e intercambiamos propuestas para mejorar la coordinación y la comunicación. Through the project of resilience and disaster risk reduction, Fundación Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) with the support of AECID, have inaugurated two evacuation centers in Magtang and Malaconini barangays in the region of Bicol.

MAEC-AECID SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS (AY 2024-2025)
The Spanish Cooperation in the Philippines is pleased to announce the opening of the MAEC-AECID Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2024-2025. This scholarship program is open to all Filipino civil servants who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in Spain.
Scholarships are currently being offered to support the following programs:
- Any Master's Degree focusing on one of the thematic areas prioritized by the V Master Plan of the Spanish Cooperation
- Master's Degree in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language for Filipino teachers
- Master's Degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Diplomatic School of Spain for Filipino civil servants
- ASALE Program. Master's Degree programs in lexicography and formative collaboration with academies associated with the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE)
Admission into the Master's program must be processed by the applicant directly with the corresponding Spanish University

Convocatoria de Becas MAEC-AECID para ciudadanos de países de América Latina, África y Asia 2024-2025

Desde el próximo 23 de enero y hasta el 29 de abril se irán abriendo los plazos para presentarse a los diferentes programas de becas 2024-2025 que ofrece la AECID a ciudadanos de países socios de la Cooperación Española en América Latina, África, Oriente Próximo y Filipinas.

La convocatoria incluye, entre otros, el Programa MÁSTER, destinado a la formación de empleados públicos de América Latina y Filipinas, y el programa ÁFRICA-MED para ciudadanos de países del continente africano y de Oriente Próximo. Las modalidades del Programa ÁFRICA-MED a su vez incluyen becas para la realización de un Máster para empleados públicos, becas para la realización de un Máster relacionado con la enseñanza del español y becas para realizar estancias de investigación y prácticas formativas en instituciones españolas. Quezon City, 28 September 2023 – Ms. Violeta Domínguez, Head of Spanish Cooperation in the Philippines, receives the Peace Companionship Award on behalf of AECID at the recently held National Peace Summit organized by Sulong Peace, Inc.
With the theme “Peace Companionship Towards Amplifying Best Practices in Peacebuilding, Human Rights and Development”, the National Peace Summit brought together various peace companions at the national and international level, as well as representatives of indigenous groups, farmers and fisherfolk to share best practices in community-based peacebuilding.
