The 𝐘𝐒𝐋𝐄𝐏 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 - 𝐒𝐭. 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 came together on Friday, August 16, 2024, for the 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 to offer our gratitude for the blessings of creation and salvation. We also sought the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit as we embark on the 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿., 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻̃𝗲𝗱𝗮, 𝗦𝗗𝗕, for graciously heading our mass and sharing his spiritual wisdom; to 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗼𝗮, 𝗣𝗦𝗦𝗗𝗠 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, for her steadfast support and guidance to the scholars; and to the 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗣 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝟭, whose presence and support are greatly appreciated.

May the Holy Spirit inspire and guide all YSLEP Scholars - SDSP as we begin this new academic journey. We pray that this year will be filled with growth, learning, and abundant blessings. 🙏🤍

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡! 🌟

On this special day, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵, we celebrate the glorious 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆, a day that honors her being taken up into Heaven, body and soul, at the end of her earthly life. This belief, held as dogma by the Catholic Church, proclaims that Mary, “𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘭 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺.”

This feast is not just a reminder of Mary's unique role as the Mother of Jesus, but also a call to us all to aspire towards holiness and to keep our hearts set on Heaven as our ultimate home and reflect on her immaculate life, seek her intercessory prayers, and renew our commitment to following her example of faith and devotion.

St. Dominic Savio was an Italian Catholic youth known for his holiness and devotion to God. Born in 1842, he was a student of St. John Bosco and became one of his most beloved disciples. Despite his short life, Dominic exemplified remarkable piety and a deep commitment to living a holy life. He died at the age of 14 and was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church.

Today marks the beginning of Holy Week with Palm Sunday where Christians worldwide commemorate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Riding on a donkey, he was greeted with waving palm branches and shouts of "𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖!"

Palm Sunday is a reminder of Jesus' humility, love, and sacrifice. It prompts reflection on his journey to the cross and the hope of his resurrection.
