In support to the noble project of the “HAPAG KAY PBBM”( HALINA’T MAGTANIM NG PRUTAS AT GULAY,KADIWA’Y YAMAN, PLANTS FOR BOUNTIFUL BARANGAYS MOVEMENT) Program, Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI-NSQCS BARMM) Chief and Staff’s together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) from Sultan Mastura launched the HAPAG KAY PBBM under direct supervision of OMARA M. KEMPA.,L.Agri,MSEE ACC III-BPI-NSQCS RXII, OIC-Chief BARMM held at Brgy.Tariken Covered court, Sultan Mastura,Maguindanao Del Norte, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Present on the event are Hon.Nasrudin U. Ali Brgy.Captain of Tarekin,Sultan Mastura, Adam O. Evaristo. MMO-MAFAR BARMM, Mohaimen Usman, Municipal Administrator Sultan Mastura, Ustads. Abdulazis Palao, Maguindanao Political Community Officer.

Project HAPAG is a nationwide strategy aimed to capacitate the barangays, especially the households towards sustainable agriculture initiatives like community and household gardening to produce vegetables and fruits right at their own backyards.

A total of 30 recipients from the said barangay received the vegetables seedling, fruits seedlings and planting materials.

May 23-26, 2023

The Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services Region XII (BPI-NSQCS 12) conducted a 4 days Training Course on Open Pollinated Variety (OPV) Corn Seed Production and Certification for Seed Inspectors at ATI-Satellite Training Center XII, USM Compound, Kabacan,Cotabato. It was attended by 26 participants from BARMM, Local Government Unit (LGU), Region X and XII.

On day one, Omara M. Kempa, Chief, NSQCS XII and OIC-Chief of BARMM discussed the Mechanics, Policies, and Guidelines on OPV Corn Seed Production and Certification. Dr.Efren E. Mangulama Director, USMARD Center, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato also discussed about the Varietal Selection and Characteristics of NSIC Approved OPV Corn (Glutinous, White Flint and Sweet Corn) and the Cultural Management Practices on OPV Corn Seed Production. Meanwhile, Joy P. Tamamay from BPI-NSQCS XII discussed the Field Inspection Techniques and the Role of Seed Inspectors. Followed by Marjie P. Lastimoso of BPI-NSQCS XII discussed the Seed Sampling, Bagging and Tagging.

Day 3- During the Third-day of training, the trainees had their hands-on field inspection techniques, Isolated, Seed Sampling,Bagging and Tagging.
Elalin T. Torio, Assistant Chief, NSQCS Central Office discussed the Seed Testing Procedures ( Moisture Content Determination, Physical Purity Test, Germination Test).

Day 4- The participants presented their Action Plan.

This training aims to produce new breed of Seed Inspectors (SI) to monitor and to evaluate. This will ensure that all seed growers will strictly follow the policies and Guidelines.

Bureau of Plant Industry Central office conducted inventory of equipments at Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BPI-NSQCS BARMM) the said inventory was headed by Sir ALEX G. PEÑALBA, Miss JESSA JEL F. LAURANTE, LARA JILL VALERIANO. All equipment was found to be in good working order and is projected to greatly contribute to the improvement of services and operations.

BPI-NSQCS BARMM WELCOMES OJT STUDENTS

August 30, 2022 -- The Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BPI-NSQCS BARMM) under the supervision of OMARA M. KEMPA,LAgr.MSEE the Regional Chief, BPI-NSQCS BARMM & OIC Chief, BPI-NSQCS REGION XII welcomes the Eight (8) On-the-Job Trainees from Cotabato State University, Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness.

During the orientation, do’s and don’ts of the on-the-job training were discussed. Also focal person of each unit were introduced.

The trainees shall render 260 hours or 32 working days of training before they shall be awarded a certificate of completion.

The Bureau of Plant Industry National Seed Quality Control Services BARMM Region and Region 12 would like to Congratulate Ma'am OMARA M. KEMPA,LAgr.MSEE the Regional Chief, BPI-NSQCS BARMM & OIC Chief, BPI-NSQCS REGION 12 for receiving the "Loyalty Award" in recognition of her exemplary performance, services and devotion to her work.
