Empowering Children through Songs and Words.
Dear kids, friends and volunteers,
Today was an amazingly successful outreach day for the Ususan “Walk For Peace” Parade with 300 loot bags prepared for all the children stopping by the HBTT stands to collect their respective loot bags.
First and foremost, I would like to thank the kids for their spirited participation, and taking the trouble to dress up in costumes so wonderfully to make the parade both memorable and so much fun.
On behalf of HBTT, I would also like to thank Kapitan Marie Marcelino for giving HBTT an opportunity to be part of such a great community event. So many children and their families came out today to celebrate together in this spectacular parade. In particular also, I would like to thank the Hernandez family for helping out on the preparation and distribution of the loot bags personally to all the children who showed up.
Our team at HBTT took the opportunity to take many photos and videos which we would like to share with everyone.
God bless us all.. 🙏😊

FEW FACTS ABOUT PHILIPPINES INDEPENDENCE DAY 🇵🇭
• Philippines was colonized by Spaniards for 333 years, and finally left in 1898 ang were replaced by the Americans who stayed for 48 years.
• Philippine independence was proclaimed more than once;
June 12 is the first of the multiple dates for Independence Day in the Philippines. With U.S. consent, Filipinos formed the Commonwealth of the Philippines in 1935, and Manuel Quezon was chosen as the first president. Once World War II came to its conclusion, America awarded the Republic of the Philippines complete independence on July 4, 1946.
But why is June 12 known as Independence Day in the Philippines? President Diosdado Macapagal stated that: "The recognition of the independence of a nation should not be accorded by any other country but itself." Following this belief, he declared this date as the country's day of freedom in 1962 and supplemented this decree further by passing Republic Act 4166 in 1964.
• Different colors of the Philippines Flag
Red - Signifyies Filipino courage and patriotism
Blue - Representing peace, freedom and justice.
White - Liberty and equality.
3 Stars - 3 Major island groups Luzon, Panay and Mindanao.
8 Rays of the Sun - Representing the 8 regions that started revolting against Spain such as Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Pampanga, Morong (modern-day province of Rizal), Laguna, Batangas, and Nueva Ecija
• If the flag is hanging vertically, the sun and stars should be on top while the blue field should be on the left in times of peace and on the right in times of war. (in times of peace, red is right.)
To the valiant heroes of the Philippines, your unwavering courage, sacrifice, and dedication have shaped the course of our nation's history. Your fearless spirit and relentless pursuit of freedom have inspired generations and continue to light the path towards a better tomorrow. We honor your legacy, commemorate your bravery, and pledge to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and resilience that you exemplified. Your contributions will forever be etched in the heart of every Filipino, serving as a reminder of the strength that lies within our people. Salute to the heroes of the Philippines, whose noble deeds will echo through time immemorial.
Happy Independence Day, Pilipinas 🇵🇭
