Dept of physics GGPG college ATD arranged a remarkable research seminar in the field of energy storage devices on 20th Nov 2023. The resource person was Dr Faiz Alam who delivered a mind blowing lecture on energy storage devices and their utilisation in the research field. Prof Umma Tuz Zuhra (Head of Physics Department) along with her faculty members appreciated Dr Faiz Alam for his knowledgeable lecture and acknowledged his tireless efforts in promoting research culture in public sector colleges. As a token of thanks, Ms. Umma Tuz Zuhra presented a shield to Dr Faiz Alam. We are highly obliged to our Principal Prof Zohra Jabeen for her cooperation and guidance in organizing such innovative and beneficial seminars for BS students.

Commemorating our National Heroes and acknowledging and appreciating their sincere efforts has always been a tradition at GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad. In the memory of Allama Muhammad Iqbal “The Poet of East”, IQBAL DAY was organized at our college by Urdu Literary Society with patriotic zeal and zest. The organizers of this auspicious event were Dr. Isma Yousuf, Dr. Toshiba Saeed, Ms. Abida Bibi and Ms. Kinza Bibi. The ceremony started with the recitation of few Verses from the Holy Quran. Students of BS Urdu Semester VII presented a documentary on the life, works, services and vision of the great philosopher, Dr. Muhammad Allama Iqbal .A tableau was presented on the worldview and teachings of Allama Iqbal followed by melodious and mesmerizing songs on Allama Iqbal’s captivating poetry. Our best orators and speakers presented enthusiastic speeches highlighting the contribution of Allama Iqbal in the creation of Pakistan. Our Honorable Principal Prof Zohra Jabeen addressed the students and inspired them with her motivating words.
A one-day workshop organized by the Political Science Department at GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad focused on "CONSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN PAKISTAN." The event featured key speakers, including principal Prof. Zohra Jabeen, Ms. Yasmin Bibi, and Ms. Khalida Saba. They discussed Pakistan's constitutional development from 1947 to the present, highlighting key milestones and challenges. The workshop aimed to educate students about the importance of constitutional frameworks in a democratic state and was part of the faculty's efforts to provide informative and enlightening events for students.
Anti Drug Society GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad, organized an Anti-Drug Poster Competition to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse among students. The office bearers of Anti Drug Society, Prof. Shabana Noreen (Chair Person), Ms. Saima Syed (Secretary), Ms. Saira Tabassum (Focal Person) and Ms. Saima Bibi (Member) aimed to encourage creativity and activism among students and promote a drug-free campus environment. Students from all BS Disciplines were invited to design posters that conveyed powerful messages against drug abuse. The event saw active participation from various departments and grade levels. Honorable Principal Prof Zohra Jabeen inaugurated this aesthetic and artistic competition by cutting the ribbon. An impartial panel of judges including Prof Dr. Saadia Afzal, Dr. Arshia Zaib and Ms. Nida Falak Naz performed the responsibility of judgement. The judging criteria included creativity, clarity of the message, and visual impact.
A total of 30 participants registered for the competition with varied academic backgrounds and brought diverse perspectives to the theme of anti-drug advocacy. The entries displayed a wide range of artistic styles and creative expressions.
The posters illustrated how drug abuse impacts not only the individual but also their loved ones and the community.
The participants will also be provided with an opportunity to have their posters prominently displayed around the college campus to raise awareness. The Anti-Drug Poster Competition was a successful event that achieved its goal of raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. It encouraged students to use their creative skills for a meaningful cause and contributed to creating a drug-free environment on campus. Anti Drug Society under the patronage of Prof. Shabana Noreen, hopes to continue organizing similar events in the future to engage and empower students in addressing critical societal issues.
As a manifestation of our utmost reverence and unconditional love for our beloved Holy Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), a Mehfil-e-Seerat Un Nabi was organized at GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad dedicated to celebrating the life and teachings of the of Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). The event aims to educate and inspire the Muslims about the exemplary character and teachings of our Last Prophet (SAW). The Patron in Chief of the event was Honorable Principal Prof Zohra Jabeen. Amongst the Patrons were Prof Shabnam Tabinda, Prof Dr. Saadia Afzal, Prof Umma Tuz Zuhra and Prof Shabana Noreen. The organizers of this mesmerizing event were Ms. Alia Zaib and Ms. Sadia Tabassum. Additional Director HED KP, Respect Worthy Ms. Shabana Marwat was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Guests included dignitaries from the Education Department including Retired Principals, In-Service Principals and Renowned Educationists.The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the over whelming recitation of Naats and Durood o Salam.
Eminent Faculty Members and Students delivered insightful lectures on various aspects of the Hazrat Muhammad's (SAW) life, his character, and the importance of following his teachings in daily life. They emphasized on the relevance of Hazrat Muhammad's (SAW) teachings in the modern world. The event concluded with collective prayers (Dua) and the recitation of Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) to seek blessings and guidance.
A communal meal was served, providing attendees with an opportunity for social interaction and community bonding.

Albert Einstein says, ’Freedom in any case is only possible by constantly working for it’. Kashmirs are struggling for more than 75 years for their right of self determination and freedom. 27th of October is observed as BLACK DAY, as 75 years ago ,on this day. India without any legal justification, forcibly took control of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is observed to show Pakistan’s support and unity with the people of Kashmir and to pay homage to all who died in the conflict. To commemorate this day a rally was organized at GGPGC No.1 Abbottabad under the dynamic leadership of the Principal Professor Zohra Jabeen and supervision of Ms. Yasmin Bibi (In charge Pakistan Cultural Society) and Ms. Alia Rafique and Ms. Khalida Saba (members of Pakistan Cultural Society).Students and teaching faculty also participated in the rally to express solidarity with Kashmiris. Heart rending speeches was delivered by students.
*One-Day Training Workshop Conducted by Dr. Shamila Firdous (Focal Person QEC) on Online Evaluation Procedures*
Reference to the recent One Day training workshop organized by Quality Assurance Cell, HED Peshawar dated 05th Oct 2023, a training session was conducted by Dr. Shamila Firdous (Focal Person QEC) on similar lines for the Heads of Departments and their respective Program Team Members to update them in accordance with the recent launch of online QEC database/website for all public sectors colleges of KP. This training session highlights the commitment of QEC GGPGC No 1 in following the directives of QAC HED Peshawar in letter and spirit as all proceedings and evaluations of QEC will be shifted to online database in near future and website has already been launched.The training aimed to familiarize participants with various online evaluation methods, to discuss the importance of maintaining assessment integrity in online settings, to explore strategies for effective online evaluation and grading and above all to share insights into technology tools for conducting online assessments.
The workshop saw active participation from various departments and Program Team Members who were involved in the assessment and evaluation processes.
Dr. Shamila Firdous engaged the participants in active discussions, group activities, and hands-on experience with online evaluation tools. The facilitator, the Quality Enhancement Cell Focal Person, shared valuable insights regarding the updation of upcoming Self Assessment Reports for Fall 2023. 05 Disciplines English, Statistics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics were briefed about the External Evaluation Procedures.
Dr. Shamila Firdous (Focal Person QEC) also appreciated the coordination and cooperation between the Quality Enhancement Cell and HODs & Program Team Members of all disciplines that resulted in 100% compliance report by Quality Assurance Cell HED Peshawar, for the commendable performance of QEC GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad in implementing the quality measures in true letter and spirit.
The Orientation Ceremony for First-Year Students at GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad was held today to welcome and introduce the newest members of our academic community. The event aimed to provide valuable information, foster a sense of belonging, and set the tone for a successful college experience. The primary objectives of the orientation ceremony were to introduce students to the college's mission, vision, and values and to provide essential information about academic programs and campus facilities. Orientation ceremony is a platform for the newly inducted students to get
familiarized with college policies, including academic integrity and code of conduct alongwith promoting a sense of community and belonging among students.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by Naat. The ceremony was conducted by Dr. Saeeda Naz ( Associate Prof of Computer Science) who gave a dynamic presentation encompassing the history, vision, mission and rules and regulations of the institution along with introduction of the Honorable Principal and Faculty members. A warm welcome address was delivered by Honorable Principal Prof. Zohra Jabeen. Senior Faculty members included Vice Principal Prof Dr. Saadia Afzal, Prof Shabnam Tabinda, Prof Shabana Noreen, Prof Umma Tuz Zuhra, Associate Prof Saima Azhar (Academic Coordinator for intermediate classes), Associate Prof Nazia Khwaj, Associate Prof Dr. Isma Yusuf and Associate Prof Farah Naz. Associate Prof Yasmin Bibi (Discipline Incharge) briefed the students regarding the code and conduct and disciplinary rules to be observed in the college. The ceremony was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of welcoming, informing, and engaging first-year students. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the event's value in easing the transition to college life.

The English Literary Society of GGPGC No 1 Abbottabad, organized a Declamation Contest on September 12, 2023 in the college auditorium. Ms. Farah Naz (Associate Prof of English & Incharge English Literary Society) and Ms. Faiza Masood (Assistant Prof of English) took the responsibility of mentoring the participants in the art of oratory. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their public speaking skills and foster a love for literature and oratory among the participants. The Declamation Contest saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments and years. Prof. Dr Saadia Afzal, Principal Incharge was the chief guest. The event was well-organized, and the judging panel consisted of Ms. Lubna Ihsan (Assistant Prof of English), Ms. Sabahat Shah (Assistant Prof of English) and Ms. Aamira Jadoon (Lecturer in English). Ms. Afshan Riaz (Lecturer in English) took charge of the compilation desk. The participants covered a wide range of topics, from social issues to literary analysis, showcasing their versatility and knowledge. The contestants displayed remarkable oratory skills, captivating the audience with their eloquence and confidence. The event drew a substantial crowd of students and faculty members, creating an atmosphere of excitement and support.

The celebration aimed to commemorate the historic day when Pakistan gained independence from British rule in 1947.
The event commenced with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony at the college main ground by honorable Principal Prof Dr. Saadia Afzal, faculty members and students followed by cake cutting. The national flag was unfurled with utmost respect and the national anthem was sung by all present, instilling a sense of unity and pride among the attendees. Students from various BS Disciplines and Intermediate Classes participated in a range of captivating cultural performances, including traditional dances, skits, and poetry recitations that depicted the rich heritage and customs of Pakistan.

*YOUM E ISTEHSAL*.
Albert Einstein says, ’Freedom in any case is only possible by constantly working for it ' and Kashmirs are struggling for so many years for their right of self determination and freedom. 5th August is observed as YOUM E ISTEHSAL as on 5th August 2019, India took illegal and unilateral steps in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in a bid to change its internationally recognized disputed status and to alter the demographic structure of the occupied territory. These measures constitute nothing but an Indian attempt to obliterate the distinct Kashmiri identity in violation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions and international law, including the 4th Geneva Convention.
Youm-e-Istehsal or the 'Day of Exploitation' is a day observed as a reaction to the Revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The Government of Pakistan subsequently designated 5 August to be observed as the Youm-e-Istehsal annually since 2020. It is observed to show Pakistan’s support and unity with the people of Kashmir and to pay homage to all who died in the conflict. It highlights our solidarity with our Kashmiri Brethren.To commemorate this day a rally was organized at GGPGC No.1 Abbottabad by Pakistan Cultural Society under the dynamic leadership of the Principal Professor Zohra Jabeen and Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Saadia Afzal .Students and teaching faculty also participated enthusiastically as a manifestation of their support with Kashmiris. English and Urdu Literary Societies organized speech competitions. The speakers delivered heart rending speeches.One minute silence was observed at 0900 hrs throughout the college premises to express our solidarity and empathy with our Brave Kashmiri Brethren.
