Afrikanizm Art is an online promotion and sale platform for African artists whose mission is to create opportunities and give visibility to African artists. Our aim is to disseminate not only the works of our artists, but also to develop and guide their careers.
Samuel Prophask Asamoah, a versatile and detail-oriented artist from Ghana. Trained at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Asamoah excels in painting, sculpture, and various art genres. His unique style blends abstract, realism, and surrealism, using diverse media like oil, acrylic, pastels, and recycled materials to address environmental issues. Asamoah's art reflects Ghanaian and global cultural elements, advocating for intercultural unity. His work engages audiences deeply, portraying contemporary socio-cultural themes and emphasizing human interconnectedness.

Today, 29 August, we celebrate the 100th birthday of Agostinho André Mendes de Carvalho, known by his literary pseudonym Uanhenga Xitu, an illustrious Angolan writer, nationalist and politician.
At the invitation of Karga Eventos, we have once again partnered with Face Studio to create a contemporary art exhibition in honour of one of the greatest figures in Angolan culture. This tribute to the life and work of Uanhenga Xitu will bring together works by talented artists who portray the rich heritage, history and inspiring life of this great man.

Casca, a self-taught artist whose work is deeply influenced by the Chokwe people's masks, symbols, and ancestral stories. Having lived in north-east Angola for four years, he uses his art to question Western historical and artistic narratives, creating new, authentic stories. Casca's unique style combines drawing, painting, and collage to reveal the traditional and spiritual richness often hidden by the West. He sees art as a tool for truth, freedom, and critical thinking.

Tosin Ogunniyi, a multidisciplinary artist from Eruwa, Oyo State, Nigeria, began his artistic journey at The Ibarapa Polytechnic and deepened his craft during an industrial training at Oluwole Omofemi’s studio. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's at the University of Lagos, Tosin’s work reflects the challenges and triumphs of individuals in his society. Drawing inspiration from his mother’s resilience, he merges charcoal and acrylics to explore themes of love, hope, and body positivity, aiming to amplify marginalized voices.

Mthuthuzeli (Sthu) Manaka, a self-taught contemporary abstract portrait painter from Johannesburg, South Africa. His work has been featured in renowned venues such as Studio Nxumalo, Kalashnikov, and internationally with Van Der Plas Gallery in New York and M.A.D.S Gallery in Venice. Beyond his artistic acclaim, Sthu has made significant social contributions, including raising funds for South African university students and Ethiopian children. His art explores the spirit realm and masculinity, inviting viewers to engage with profound concepts through evocative abstract portraits.

Júnior, an Angolan artist from Ingombotas. Initially aspiring to be a hacker and personal trainer, a leg injury at 16 led him back to his true passion: art. At 17, Júnior moved to Portugal to pursue his dreams without family support. Through various schools and workshops, he developed his skills and embraced abstract visionism, using colors, shapes, and textures to convey emotions and perceptions. Júnior's art invites viewers on a journey of self-discovery and contemplation, transcending the physical to reach the metaphysical.

As part of our "Afro Renaissance" exhibition, we organised guided tours to various educational institutions, including a memorable visit from the "Cantinho dos Amigos" school. The curiosity and commitment of these young people was inspiring, as they explored themes of identity and culture through the works of art. This visit emphasised the powerful role that art plays in education, sparking meaningful discussions about cultural identity among the next generation.

Kofi Amoateng, a contemporary figurative artist from Jamestown, Accra, Ghana.
Known for his distinctive use of charcoal, Amoateng captures the rich textures of his subjects' skin, symbolizing their resilience and healing. His works combine charcoal with oil and acrylic paints, using minimal colors to express deep emotions, particularly Black joy.
Through his art, Amoateng invites viewers on a journey of introspection and self-discovery, offering a therapeutic exploration of personal and collective experiences.
Thó Simões, an accomplished multidisciplinary artist from Malanje, Angola, based in Luanda. A graduate of INFAC, Simões blends ancestral Angolan symbolism with contemporary urban art. Renowned for his graffiti, his journey began with a dream to transform city walls into dynamic artscapes. His notable works include the Leba Murals in Luanda.
Simões has enhanced urban environments both in Angola and internationally, making art accessible and inspirational to the public through his vibrant street art.

Siphamandla Ex
From the vibrant streets of Johannesburg, we present Siphamandla Ex, a dynamic South African artist whose talents span music production and the visual arts. Raised in the village of Bilanyoni by his grandmother, Ex developed a passion for drawing from an early age, despite never having had formal training in the visual arts.
His art explores the human conditions of life in villages and cities, tackling themes of violence and abuse through compelling portraits. Currently working in her studio at the Asisebenze art studio, Ex dreams of founding a non-profit organisation to provide shelter and opportunities for children and keep them off the streets.
