This week, Pastor Sam shared about peace as Christ’s citizens, finishing up the Philippians series. 🔥
In Philippians 4, based on Paul’s teachings, we were brought through what it means to have peace in our relationships, trials and times of lack. 🕊
May the purposes of our lives be aligned to God’s call for us, which will bring forth God’s spirit of peace unto us! ✝️💕

Theme: Tenderness & Reverence
The team felt the strong presence of the Lord in our midst even as we lifted our voices to worship him during service last weekend. It felt like as if there was also such a tenderness even as we came before Him from our different places. As we were going about the auditorium taking photos, we were really encouraged and heartened to see different ones of you agonizing for the Lord, yearning for Him to be the ruler of our lives, and to take precedence over all that we do. May we keep up that posture even as we run our races.
See you for the final youth service of the month this Saturday!

Victory tasted sweet for our QSS BB boys who took part in the BB Cluster Football Competition two weekends ago. ⚽️ Kicking their way to glory, one goal at a time, the boys eventually came in first place and brought the trophy home! 🏆
Those who’ve been involved in QSS Study Rooms also swapped their study sessions one evening for BBQ sensations as they celebrated the end of national exams! 📚🔥
Last night (20 Nov), two COOS Youth members–Michael and Julian–were enrolled as Officers of the Boys’ Brigade. 👮♂️ They have been serving faithfully with , which our church sponsors. Also, former Captain Jeng Ting received the A.M. Cherian Long Service Award for his 15 years of service to the Company.🫡 On top of that, current Captain Min Xin received his 5 year service award! 🖐️ Let us pray for all our BB Officers as they seek to advance God’s Kingdom. 🙏🏼
• 11 November 2023 • This week, we welcomed the P6s into our COOS Youth family with open arms! 🥳💕 Pastor Titus continued the Philippians series with chapter 3, bringing us a sermon about the essence of a Christian life ✝️, based on Paul’s teachings. Here are 3 essential things to have in our Christian walks. 🔥

Theme: God’s Overflowing Love
This week marked our first youth service for our P6 students!
As we captured photographs throughout the service, we were struck by the tangible presence of God’s overflowing love. From the welcome activity where individuals from every segment contributed to writing notes for the P6s to the overall atmosphere of support and encouragement, we witnessed love being expressed in countless ways. Just as we warmly received the P6s, let us continue to exude this love towards others in our lives.
Join us for youth service this week as Pastor Sam delves into Philippians 4!

We extended a warm welcome to the P6s last Saturday as they joined the COOSYouth family! They attended their first Youth Service alongside their secondary cells, and the evening concluded with a delightful dinner filled with fellowship and games.
We are incredibly blessed to have the P6s join our COOSYouth family. We look forward to seeing them grow as fellow disciples of Christ!

Various schools met in the month of October to pray and intercede for things that God placed in their hearts. From having mala parties 😋, to having a simple time of worship amidst the hecticness 🙌, the school meetings we've had in the past month simply had it all! 🔥
May we continue to pray for pure hearts, clean hands, a heart and purpose for the schools we've been placed in, and for more souls to be saved! 🤲

Ian brought us through the second half of Philippians 2, sharing about what it meant to be lights in the world.💡
Being a light in this world means that a disciple has to work out their salvation, like a farmer planting a crop 🌽, and trusting God for its growth 🌦 just as He works in us 🔥.
This produces sacrificial love, the same kind of love that Jesus has ✝️! May we echo Him as lights in the world just as He is the true light of the world.

Theme: Tenderness and desire for God
The team felt that there was such sweet tenderness throughout service as we saw people desiring to connect with others. We also felt that there was a desire to reach a deeper place of intimacy with the Lord. We were reminded of God’s love for all of us and how He relentlessly pursues each of us. May we keep yearning for more of Him in our daily lives and every moment is an opportunity to grow our relationship with Him.
See you at youth service this week! 🤩

“We want to see Your Kingdom come, we want to see Your will be done. We want to see hearts turning back to You, Lord let Your glory fall”
We had our Youth Prayer Night yesterday where we gave thanks to God for seeing us through 2023. We spent the night praying for those who are in the midst of exams, for our QSS neighbours and BB Boys, as well as for our mission trippers who will be embarking on their mission trips to various countries these coming months.
Let’s carry this zeal and fire for the Lord into Youth Service today, 4:30pm @ the Audi 🤩

This week, Stuart continued our Philippians series. He shared about what it means to be servants of Christ. 🙌
The heart of a servant first begins in looking at the life of Jesus, who came down to earth not to be served, but to serve. May our hearts be willing and hungry to love and serve God wholeheartedly, for He is worthy! 💯
• 21 October 2023 •
Theme: Humility
The theme of humility resonated throughout the team this week when we were capturing photos. We were reminded of humility being in every part of our lives, from our acts of service to our interactions with our peers, and the understanding that God has blessed us plentifully. May we not forget to show humility and embody/have a heart of a servant in our lives.
See you at youth service this week where Ian Shum will wrap up Philippians 2 for us! 🤩

We had our last baptism service of the year where we welcomed 3 of our youths into the family of Christ! 🥳💯
Pastor Sam shared about the purpose of baptism and how repentance, forgiveness, and allegiance continues in our lives even beyond the baptism pool.
• 14 October 2023 •
Theme: Joy and Anticipation
We felt this sense of anticipation for service to begin, to witness 3 of our youths baptised into God’s family. Behind our lenses, we were heartened to see dancing feet during worship 👣, attentive listeners during Pastor Sam’s sermon 👂🏻 and the solemn moment of our baptism candidates declaring “I turn to Christ” ✝️. Our favourite moments were seeing the families and cell members surrounding the baptism candidates and praying over them. We hope these photos reflect the immense joy of seeing your brothers and sisters in Christ turning to Christ and having a community here in COOS Youth to journey alongside each other. ❤️

Theme: Sweet joy and Tenderness in our heart of worship to the Father
No matter the season, Saturday afternoons are the time where COOS Youth gathers together in Jesus’ name.
This week, there was a certain sweetness during worship — from the tender hearts, carrying a yearning to love God and praise him, despite our different circumstances. Truly, the best gift we can bring to him is our heart of worship. ❤️

We had the honour of guest speaker Pastor Edric Sng, the lead editor of .sg and .st , to share with us a sermon. He shared about sonship of God and of the church, expounding on his 40.day devotional about the Sons of Korah. 👬
Just like the sons of Korah, we are called to have a posture of reverence that comes from knowing the immense privilege it is to be chosen by God. May we cultivate a good posture and attitude that continues to grow our walk! ❤️

Theme: Joy of Humility and Relationship with our Father
While preparing for service this week, our team felt the themes were the joy of humility and to be reminded of our own personal relationships with God. We wanted to capture the joy of being in a posture of humility before the Lord as we are also reminded of what He has done to give us the opportunity to have relationship with Him and to be called His children. May we endeavour to remain in humble gratitude as we walk with and serve our Father and King!
There will be no youth service this week as it is family service weekend! See you next Saturday at 4.25pm for our services

We had the honour of having Pastor Daniel Teu share a message on the importance of purity. 🙌
None of us are free from the struggle of temptations, but we can give thanks for the gift of the Holy Spirit that enables us to make decisions that encompass purity. ❤️
The first step to pursuing purity is in boldly choosing to confess our sins, knowing of the abounding grace of God that we will be met with. What choices will you make today? 🌟
• 16 September 2023 •
Theme: Reverence
This week, as the team was taking photos 📷, we felt that we were reminded to have reverence for the Lord, and we wanted that to be reflected in the photos we take of COOSYouth. To us as photographers, we wanted to capture moments of our youths revering God. We revere God by doing this and preparing our hearts before we serve ❤️.
May we continue in our purity journey and rely on His strength! 💪
See you at youth service this week where Ps Edric Sng, the editor of Thir.st and Salt&Light, will be preaching on the Sons of Korah 🤩!

A month ago at DOHP, I had a vision while the song Consuming Fire, & you guys were worshipping your hearts out in the front of the audi.
1. I saw an empty dry ground, with a few small fires scattered - there are fruits, but few & far between.
Some of you belong to this group. Even before this new outpouring of God's spirit, you were on fire with God & living your life wholeheartedly for Him.
🔥Keep being faithful.
2. The ground softened up, and new fires began to ignite. Soon, there're fires everywhere.
Many of you are now catching the heart of what God is doing in you & in Singapore. You're also starting to see that you have the ability to impact the sphere of influence wherever you're at.
🔥 Catch the fire.
3. A pillar of fire came down & burned everything up.
"Spirit of God fall in this place" / "Lord, let your glory fall" - these lyrics in Consuming Fire started playing when I saw this scene of God's fire falling. God's spirit & fire will fall on us as we turn our hearts to Him.
🔥Turn to God.
4. Now, the entire space is set ablazed.
We become the people of God, on fire for His kingdom & His purposes. Ablazed, we shine brightly for the world to see, honouring & glorifying God.
🔥God is glorified.
____
The above is a vision God showed David during the 8 Aug 2023 Day Of His Power. God is truly doing something, let's all catch the heart and continue stewarding and spreading God's fire!!

Pastor Titus ended off our "Every Disciple" series, focusing on the topic of forgiveness.
It says in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." ✝️
We owe a debt of sin to God and have zero ability to pay for it. Yet, Christ paid the cost for us. We were forgiven, just as the master did for his servant. ❤️
If such immeasurable mercy and grace is extended to us, why should we and how can we withhold the same from others? 🤲

40.Day Prayer Mid-Week Reflections by COOS Youth
40.Day Prayer 2023 is now over, but carrying the same posture of prayer continues for the rest of our lives.
In the past 40 days, we have heard from different pastors and leaders on turning Singapore Godward, Winning the Youth and Blessing the Nations.
This is a vision for everyone in every church in Singapore. Not just pastors and leaders, but every believer.
In yesterday’s message, Pastor Jeff Chong, Chairman of LoveSingapore, reiterated these three strategic focal points and encouraged us to invest our time, talent and treasure to pursue what is on God’s heart.
God loves Singapore and wants to fulfil His destiny for this nation. That is why God has brought us together for this purpose.
May we continue to pray that God’s light will shine brightly in every area of darkness and that every believer will become an active ambassador of this light.
Happy 58th Birthday Singapore! 🇸🇬🥳 As we celebrate our nation’s birthday today, may we be reminded of God’s faithfulness and goodness to us over the years. Let us continue interceding to turn Singapore Godwards, to win youths over and bless the nations! 🌎
COOS will be one of the prayer hubs for Day of His Power happening on 8 August! Here’s a recap of what took place at DOHP last year.
We are excited to see how God will move as we gather as one family of God to pray for Singapore to turn Godward. Let’s return to a posture of worship and ready our hearts to contend for more of God in our lives!

Ps Sam shared a message on how we as disciples of Christ, should live in our pursuit of His presence in our daily lives. 👍🏻❤️ Referencing the book of Exodus, we learn from Moses and the Israelites on how they did the same. Here are the main points of the sermon!
40.Day Prayer Mid-Week Reflections by COOS Youth
We are now on Day 33 of the 40.Day Prayer. In today's sharing by Rev Ng Zhi-Wen of Zion Bishan BP Church, we learn about how Jesus offers refuge.
In the midst of a world that chases after earthly kings and unholy rebellion, only one true king reigns: Jesus. Jesus is our refuge, our safety, our King; and when He comes again, our judge.
As the church, we must declare both sides of this judgement - both His angry righteousness and His merciful refuge. For it is through understanding God's wrath that we come to know of His incredible grace.
Have we laid down our earthly pursuits and our foolish rebellion, running instead to Jesus, our refuge? With this knowledge of His peace, may we go out into the nations, proclaiming Jesus as both our judge and refuge.
We welcome you! 🤗🩵
Congratulations to Ariel, Samuel, Seraphina, Justin, and Samantha, 5 of the 15 people who got baptised earlier this year! 🎉❤️🔥

Earlier this month (8 July), the campus segment held a mookata dinner. It was a great time of feasting and bonding with each other 😋🍲 We also took the time to give our farewell blessings to those who will be transiting out into YA cells. Wishing all transitees a smooth transition and to always remember that we have the same God in every season of our lives 🙌🏻

Stuart, one of our CPs, shared a message on the importance of having a prayerful life as disciples of Christ. 🙏🏻 Referencing the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6, we learn more about what prayer really is about. Here are the 3 main points of the sermon!
The Boys’ Brigade relies on the people of God to do His work. If the Lord has granted you a desire to disciple young men, explore serving with the 61st Company by reaching out to your cell leaders. 🔥
Meanwhile, let’s hear from Jabez, an alumnus of the , who shares why he continues to serve as an Officer in the Company. 🫡
COOS Youth has been partnering with the and we are happy to have BB boy Bryan, who is now a member of our youth congregation, to share his experience with us. 👍🏻😁
The Boys’ Brigade exists to advance Christ’s Kingdom among boys and promote Christian values. We thank God that He has used our ministry with the BB to impact many lives and we pray that He will change many more lives. 🙏🏻
40.Day Prayer Mid-Week Reflections by COOS Youth
On this Day 26 of the 40.Day Prayer, Pastor Ian Wong from K*m Yan Methodist Church spoke about listening to our youth.
To lead others to God, we must first learn how to listen well. With youths it means giving space to share, where they would not feel judged. As youths we should also steward the gift of sharing of our friend’s hearts.
Let us obey God’s command to encourage and build one another up, hearing their hearts and pointing them to what they really need - God! Let us also humble ourselves to learn and listen to the hearts of the older ones, so that we can do our part to bridge the gap!
