Mastitis is an inflammation of the mammary glands that often occurs in mammals, especially dairy cows and goats. The clinical symptoms are swollen, hard, red, hot udders and bloody milk, pus and lumps.

In addition, milk that bleeds and puss as a result of mastitis infection is also not safe for the baby to drink. In general, if the cleanliness of the udder is not maintained, it will cause bacteria to attack the mammary gland, causing mastitis.

Therefore, before and after milking or milking, the udder should be sprayed (teat spray) or soaked (teat dip) with an effective disinfectant/antiseptic. If mastitis occurs, breeders should do antibiotic treatment immediately with the advice of the veterinary officer concerned.

Poultry is highly susceptible to Vitamin E deficiency, which can have detrimental effects on their health. Some common signs and symptoms of this deficiency include exudative diathesis, encephalomalacia (also known as crazy chick disease), reproductive failure in both male and female birds, and myopathy of the gizzard in turkeys.

Ruminants may suffer from white muscle disease, a condition characterized by sudden and severe damage to the heart muscle.

In swine, a lack of Vitamin E can lead to mulberry heart disease and hepatosis dietetica, also known as toxic liver dystrophy or hepatic necrosis. Furthermore, piglets with inadequate levels of Vitamin E in their diet may be vulnerable to iron toxicity.

In addition to the aforementioned deficiency symptoms, inadequate intake of this essential nutrient can also result in reproductive issues in both swine and ruminants.
In swine, Vitamin E deficiency can cause reduced fertility, increased embryo mortality, and even stillbirths. Similarly, ruminants may experience decreased fertility rates and an increased risk of complications when they lack sufficient levels of Vitamin E in their diet.

The impact of heat stress extends beyond mere mortality rates, however. Even birds that survive the heat may experience reduced feed intake, decreased egg production, and compromised immune function.

World Veterinary Day gives recognition to those who have dedicated their lives to helping animals and honors the profession’s role in the agriculture industry.

Agriculture is a sector that is heavily reliant on animal health and veterinarians play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of livestock and other animals.

Veterinarians are some of the most selfless and kind-hearted people in the world.

The normal body temperature of chickens is generally between 41-42 degrees Celsius. The most comfortable environment temperature for commercial chickens is between 18-22 degrees Celsius. Commercial chicken farming (meat or eggs) under the open house system, is more easily exposed to the threat of heat stress, especially when the weather is too hot and humid.

Chickens have no sweat glands. The way for chickens to cool down is usually through breathing, skin that is not covered with feathers, f***s and urine. But when the temperature and humidity of the environment is too high, it is difficult for chickens to lose body heat. Furthermore, if the chicken population is too dense, the chicken has too much abdominal fat and thick hair.
The symptoms of heat stress in chickens are generally dark red in the face, ponds and beaks, open beaks and fast breathing, less active or moving, flaps open, less food, watery stools, and drinking a lot of water.

Negative effects of excessive water consumption;
Vitamins and electrolytes in the body will be lost through urine.
Heat stress not only causes chicken performance to be affected (slow growth and egg production drops), but even worse, internal organs are damaged due to excessive body temperature, and the chicken will die.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞:
Reduce the density of the chicken population in the coop; meaning more space is given. Stop eating for a while. Increase the number of fans in the cage (air movement is faster). Sufficient supply of drinking water and sufficient vitamins and electrolytes.

Milk fever is a body condition where the calcium content in the blood decreases (Hypocalcaemia). In cows, it often occurs within 24 hours before to 3 days after calving.

Symptoms of milk fever at the beginning are lack of appetite, restlessness, and difficulty defecating and urinating. In worse conditions, the cow will lie down and not be able to get up. If milk fever is not treated immediately, the cow's death will occur.

In conclusion, a sufficient supply of calcium, especially in the late stages of pregnancy and after giving birth, is very important to avoid milk fever.

Calpozag is a concentrated Calcium supplement in liquid form. Use the drench gun to distribute 200ml to each pregnant mother, before and after the birth of the child every 8-10 hours interval.
