We boarded Raffles Flight 1708 ✈️ last Saturday, setting off on a night filled with laughter and adventure. We kicked off the party with a surprise funky flash mob, followed by epic dance battles, and ended with an exciting lucky draw session! During the flight, we also recognised the dedication of our long-serving employees during the Annual Long Service Awards segment.

Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Aswini was a consultant at Medway Maritime Hospital, United Kingdom, after completing her urogynaecology subspecialty training.

Her clinical interests are in:
• General obstetrics and gynaecology
• Urogynaecology

Dr Aswini has advanced training in labour care and provides holistic support for pregnant patients based on evidence-based medicine.

Meet ANC Soji George from Raffles Heart Centre. Throughout her 22 years of nursing career, she has developed a strong interest in angiography. Of her 13 years in angiography, she has been with Raffles for five years.

Our monthly was recently held with Ward 8, Ward 10, Day Surgery, and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)!

Today's session emphasised the importance of teamwork for nurses in carrying out their daily duties. By working as a team and supporting one another, we can effectively cover all aspects of patient care and deliver quality service. It is also crucial to take initiative and demonstrate a willingness to go above and beyond regular duties to ensure throughout our patients' journey.

During the session, SSN Wong See Lea from Inpatient Ward 8, SSN Magdelene Chiew from Inpatient Ward 9, SSN Grace Lee and Nang Win Yee Aye from Day Surgery, and SSN Lee Pei Boon from ICU were highlighted for their exceptional service and care rendered. They were encouraged to keep up the good work.

"I began my nursing career in 2003. During that time, nursing was not the most prestigious career. I could still remember the look on my parent’s faces when they knew of my decision to become a nurse. Somehow, I managed to persuade them on letting me pursue my passion, which lies in serving those in need. Even after 19 years in nursing, I still find joy nursing my younger patients back to health and being a part of their life’s journey. The smiles on these little angels give me strength to continue the battle with them.

I started off as a junior staff nurse and worked my way to assume the role of a senior nurse clinician. I was given several opportunities to upgrade myself in the areas of nursing education and management. My stint during the setting up of Raffles Hospital Shanghai was an eye opener and a great experience in my nursing career.

Thank you Raffles Hospital for believing in me and giving me opportunities to prove myself. It is fulfilling to see my parent’s proud faces."
