Dr Lin demostrated how he uses small bone screws as anchors ⚓ to move teeth backwards to create space to align crowded teeth.

More importantly, it can help improve the facial proportions (in certain cases) by allowing the lower jaw and chin to rotate forwards and upward.

The best courses are those that you can put into practise the next day! I was impressed by how Dr Vicki came up with a more predicable way to move teeth backwards (ie less extractions may be needed). An added bonus: it requires reduced elastic wear!

It was a treat having 2 full days of learning from Dr Vicki Vlaskalic! Dr Vicki was there from the very beginning in 1997 when was invented. She was among the first orthodontists to develop and use .

In 2018, she taught me the fundamentals of Invisalign during the accreditation course. Some of my classmates and i were pregnant then 🤰.

Fast forward to 2023 - our kids have grown and so have we as clinicans! i enjoyed seeing how Dr Vicki's utilises new innovations by Invisalign and her various thought processes has evolved. Technology continues to improve and we have to go along for the ride!
