Are you feeling more tired after working out or irritable? Perhaps it is time to listen to your body and take a break.
Exercise burnout is real and it can cause you to feel less motivated to keep up with your ideal healthy lifestyle. When you start feeling exhausted rather than refreshed after exercising, it is important to:
1. Dial down the hardcore workouts and listen to find a routine that fits your body strength
2. Try out a new routine (It may help reignite the momentum)
3. Allow yourself more rest days so that you can recuperate
4. Treat those aching muscles to a spa retreat or just a simple soak in the tub

Check out Coach Raffy's planche prep routine! This callisthenics-based routine helps targets the abs, arms and shoulders which will slowly help you build the necessary strength required for your planche.
Active stretching: fuel for your workout!
Through controlled motions, an active stretch routine helps promote proper blood circulation. This prepares your muscles and ligaments to work at its' best ability. The increased blood flow will also help expand your muscles, thus improving your overall flexibility and range of motion.

We at Singapore Calisthenics Academy provides this fun and enriching journey to you. We aim to inspire creativity in working out with calisthenics and to leave you with an experience like no other.
Calisthenics originates from ancient Greek terms, kalós (καλός) and sthénos (σθένος) bringing the meaning of ‘beauty’ and ‘strength’ into play. It is the art of utilising one’s body weight and the qualities of inertia to develop one’s physique. Calisthenics represents the best form of functional fitness primarily because it can be done anywhere and anytime with minimal equipment needed. Beginners can perform the more basic exercises such as pull ups, push ups, dips and squats while the advanced stages include moves like handstands, front and back levers and planches. Advancing in these exercises allow one to master the movement of his/her own body and progress into more creative and fun moves.
