Play Inclusive 2022 action continues this weekend with Basketball, Floorball and debuting for the first time, Boccia! Singapore's largest unified sports competition saw close to 500 participants with and without disabilities playing on the same team, competing alongside one another.

Besides 3-on-3 Basketball and Floorball competitions, the Unified Skills Challenges allow players who are progressing in gameplay to participate in various skills stations such as dribbling, shooting, modified defense and offence play.

Sport has the power to promote inclusion, build understanding and foster friendships. This event is co-organized by Special Olympics Singapore SportCares Goalball Singapore Singapore Disability Sports Council LET’S PLAY INCLUSIVE!

SportCares officially kicked off its 10th Year celebrations on Wednesday with Experience SPORTS!, a three-day sports tryouts event for persons with disabilities (PwDs), held at Heartbeat@Bedok. The first two days of the event saw over 300 participants from close to 20 organisations such as MINDS Towner Gardens School and Touch Centre for Independent Living (Bukit Merah) taking part in sports such as Boccia, Paracanoe and Football.

A great way to start a SportCares weekend!

Early morning last Saturday, friends from iC2 PrepHouse participated in a Blind Tennis programme organised by Soundball Singapore.

Designed for persons with visual impairment, Blind Tennis, also known as Soundball, is adapted from Tennis and is suitable for persons of all ages and playing abilities.

Close to 200 students participated in 4th annual edition of Play Inclusive 24/11/2021

For the 4th straight year, Special Olympics Singapore and SportCares, with additional support from the Ministry of Education, Singapore (Special Education Branch), successfully organised "Play Inclusive".

Over a period of 3-months, students from different schools were able to participate and interact in various sporting activities via the virtual format due to safety restrictions.

Plans underway to double number of inclusive sports facilities over next 5 years | Video People with disabilities will have better access to sports facilities in the coming years. By 2026, Sport Singapore aims to have up to 24 such centres, up from the current 11. Features of such facilities include gym equipment with removable seats and swimming pools with ramps. Sunday, 1 August 2021, 4pm – 5pm: OXIGENO®️
A Body & Mind program based on Pilates, Yoga and Functional Training, focusing on flexibility, strength and mobility through harmoniously flowing movements with deep breathing, the session will be conducted with both standing and seated versions, suitable for all abilities.

Inclusive Sports Conference 2021 (ISC 2021) Highlights 30/06/2021

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth - MCCY and Sport Singapore (SportSG), and co-hosted by Singapore Disability Sports Council and Special Olympics Singapore, the inaugural Inclusive Sport Conference 2021 (ISC 2021) took place from 16 – 18 March.

ISC 2021 was graced by President Halimah Yacob, with accompanying Minister Edwin Tong (MCCY), attracted more than 900 registered participants including persons with disabilities and their families, athletes, sport practitioners, educators, students, allied professionals, caregivers and volunteers. Keynote speakers include Mr Ken Black from The Inclusion Club, Dr Teo-Koh Sock Miang from the Singapore Disability Sports Council and Captain Roger Loh from Special Olympics Singapore.

Play Inclusive Campaign 02/04/2021

2020 has been a challenging year for most of us due to COVID-19 but it was an opportunity to explore new ways to bridge communities and create sporting memories.

Play Inclusive 2020 went virtual to pair youths from mainstream and special education schools to learn and complete workouts together on virtual platforms. The new experiences include organizing the first hybrid Play Inclusive finale in November 2020, where inclusive teams had fun playing Exercise Bingo together.
