SIEU FIRST SPECIAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE (SDC) FOR TERM 2021 - 2025 [18th January 2024]

>> Pursuant to Rules 10(a) & 15 of the Union’s Constitution, the Executive Council at its meeting held on 15 June 2023 approved to convene a Delegates Conference.

>> Pursuant to Rule 16(b) of the Union’s Constitution, delegates are required to vote on the amendments to Constitutional items and 4 other Motions.

We are happy to share that the SDC went smoothly with a 91% quorum. Our delegates have voted to move forward together, with no less than 97% of the vote cast to go "For" each of the amendment/motion.

SIEU INDUSTRIAL TALK ON TRIPARTISM & WORKPLACE FAIRNESS ACT

Today, 22 Union Leaders and 33 Management Partners, got briefed by Brother Roger Ng from the Ministry of Manpower of the upcoming workplace fairness legislation.

SIEU Executive Coucil Meeting followed with a dialogue with one of our advisors, Sister Jessica Tan, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore. Thank you, Sister Jessica, for the exchanges.

On the same day, SIEU delegates also gathered for a dinner and simple celebration of SIEU's 68th Anniversary. SIEU has been established since 1955, 31 October.

Special thanks to the wonderful and helpful team from Furama city centre for the great services provided to us.

Organised and sponsored by NTUC Club in support of the Labour Movement’s U Care initiative, the Family Fun Fiesta would be held on 25 and 26 November 2023. It aims to strengthen family bonding, promote a greater work-life balance and better well-being by enabling union members to enjoy a day of fun with their families at Downtown East, at no cost.
