๐ฆ Exciting day for our NSU Business Intelligence class! ๐ฆ
A handful of MIS students had an incredible opportunity to visit with Alex Grieben, the Vice President of Risk Management at Dacotah Bank, who graciously gave our students a view into the fascinating world of model risk management and developing Model Risk Policies within the banking industry.
A highlight of their visit included examining real-world testing examples from the model validation processes. Our students had the chance to examine critical checkpoints in the modeling process: What makes a model conceptually sound? Are the data inputs appropriate? Are the outputs accurate? These pivotal questions underscored the meticulous approach Dacotah Bank employs to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of their risk models.
A huge thank you to Alex at Dacotah Bank for providing such an enriching experience! This visit undoubtedly will help shape their understanding of Model Risk Management for years to come.

Meet Lindsey Huber, our next Leaders of the Pack recipient!
Lindsey graduated from NSU in 2008. She currently lives in Groton, SD and she is an Instructor of Management Information Systems at Northern State University in Aberdeen. Lindsey's time in college wasn't just an education; it was the discovery of her people and a sense of belonging. In the classrooms, she found knowledge; in the community, she found connection, and, in this environment, she discovered her lifelong friends. NSU became her home, a place where she felt understood, valued, and empowered to pursue her goals. As she transitioned from being a student to becoming an alum, and from a staff member to a faculty position, her commitment to NSU only deepened. Lindsey now has the privilege of not only imparting knowledge but also developing the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders. And as an alumnus of NSU, she remains connected to the ever-growing network of individuals who share a common love for this institution.
Congrats, Lindsey!
